Can you post 'xxxx are going to smash Arsenal' before every match, please?

If you told me that Lewa would fail to score before this match, I would have laughed. They still need to go to Germany though, and Bayern will be looking for revenge...

This is a Pep Guardiola kind of result: lots of possession and good football but no goals, laving Bayern vulnerable to a slightly lucky counterattack or flukey free kick.

Still, a big, big result for Arsenal.

Mourinho attacks another ref. Makes sure to use Wenger's choice words against Dean too.

Word on the street:: Juventus will buy Cuadrado in January and take him from Chelsea. This makes me a new Juventus fan. Loving their Black & Gold 3rd jersey, gonna be buying that soon.

Wasted my time watching PSG v Madrid's borefest.

De Bruyne paid a big chunk of his transfer fee back today

Juventus really are struggling this season.

Exactly the same place as before, seeing as his hand ball led to the CSKA penalty. So without him, it would have merely been a 0-0 draw. :D

Probably not in the same place in the EPL though, he's actually looking good value for money right now!

Definitely not in the same place in the league. He's been incredible. Haven't seen a teenaged newcomer have that kind of impact in quite some time.

Can't beat a a 10-man version of the 12 place Russian side in Anfield. Klopp has work to do.

Man Utd have weathered some rocky times lately through the heroics of just one or two players.

Klopp gets a pass on these early games of course - the best he can expect is to get the players behind him and it's clear he has done that - but I find the question of expectations for the rest of the season to be a vexed one. What do the board want from him? 4th place? A deep run in the Europa League? A Cup final? Or just a clear, consistent implementation of tactical philosophy?

Probably some mixture of the above. But the biggest new thing that Klopp brings to Liverpool is the ability to attract world-class players, and we probably won't see the benefits of that for almost a year.

hmm..

what makes you think that? top talent, I'd agree. Players with world class potential eventually, although those tend to be picky as well - BVB had a bonus since it's way easier for them to reach the CL and present themselves than for Pool. Although one could argue that the PL is a showcase on its own of course. Still doubting that he single-handedly attracts world class players.

Wish ha / you guys do well though. Won't be an easy road though, still to be seen if his last two Dortmund seasons were a fluke or because of fatigue instead of an overcome idea to play. Interesting and sympathetic combination. Crossing fingers for you guys.

Liverpool's current crop of talent is very, very average. They signed up a manager who built a league winning and nearly Champions League winning squad, but they have to fix their very broken transfer policy.

Chelsea are imploding again. They'll probably get a draw but they way off form to challenge for any silverware now. Mourinho sent to the stands. Does his suspended ban kick in now?

Such an unlikeable man leading such an unlikeable team...

Fair enough, I'll go with "top talent" and "world class potential." Liverpool won't be signing Messi or Ronaldo, but there are plenty of 2nd/3rd tier stars out there that could make a difference, and with Klopp Liverpool have a better chance of attracting such players than they did with Rogers.

True in one sense - Liveprool have the 5th biggest budget in the league and will probably finish about 5th again. So the squad is not over performing. But in another sense it's unfair. 5th place in the league is hardly "average" - I would call Stoke "average" in the context of the league. I guess it depends on what metric you are using to judge a team.

I'm also not sure the transfer policy is fundamentally "broken." The concept of a transfer committee has been widely mocked, but is actually more sensible than letting a manager handle recruitment alone.

He didn't say anything...somewhat surprisingly. He decided to snub the media.

Chelsea now 11 points off the summit after 10 games...might increase to 12 or 13 tomorrow.

Still not insurmountable but looking unlikely.

They face LFC next...without Matic. Fabregas will also likely be missing, as has been the case for most of this season.
