Well the first 4 minutes were good! What a start to the Iceland game!

Big win for Italy, they look more like a contender than I thought at the start of the tournament.
We can't defend for toffees I'm afraid.
Just hope the halftime talk does some good.
Don't think my nerves could have taken penalties.Bravo, Iceland, indeed. They played to their strengths, and as a team.
Remind me, again, of that graceless remark from Cristiano Ronaldo about them?
Mind you, my masochist within was half hoping for torture and death by penalties, but, perhaps, it was just as well that this didn't happen.
Actually it would have been a travesty if we had gone through on pens. We don't deserve to be there.Iceland played their hearts out on both sides of the ball. Solid defending, committed attacking until the end. Just a marvelous display of gritty, down to earth soccer.
One of the US commentators said something to the effect of "it's like all the English players decided to have the worst games of their career tonight."
I'm glad that it didn't go to PKs, having seen what that did to Argentina last night. I think it would have been a much worse way for England to bow out.

Agreed, I just think it would have been harder on the players. Messi was absolutely crushed last night and I hat to see anyone in that position.Actually it would have been a travesty if we had gone through on pens. We don't deserve to be there.
Good. Need fresh ideas.Agreed, I just think it would have been harder on the players. Messi was absolutely crushed last night and I hat to see anyone in that position.
EDIT: Hodgson has resigned.

But let's be honest Iceland knew there game plan and stuck to it. We just didn't have the skill or the ideas to get through the wall.
Hope they go on to win it (but rather suspect they won't get past France).

England will have a tough time living this down.
