Zelda. Interested in a few others but yeah. Zelda. It's the game I always wanted to play, it's similar to a design I was pimping around publishers a few years ago. I just really want to play a game like it!

i am really impressed with the way this zelda looks, very open world

One game? Zelda!

Did Gearbox totally kill the Aliens franchise? I saw the clip of Prey, and it is totally an Aliens game...but no mention at all of Aliens? I know Bethesda saves money by not having to license anything, but a couple of years ago, people would have lined up and thrown money at you if you were going to release a game like that with the Aliens franchise.

My question - Who do you think "mopped up"?

I would have to categorize it:

Games & Console: Microsoft, of course
Future and VR Gaming: Sony, of course
"Best in Show" presentation: Nintendo, of course (Zelda booth)

Hardware: I dunno. MS confused it a lot with Scorpio. Sonys was good but I still want to hear how they're going to achieve high VR framerates on a regular PS4. If anything I'm just more confused than when I went into E3.

Microsoft should not have unveiled Scorpio at this stage. Essentially they went

"The new improved Xbox, the one you have been waiting for is coming in October" ... Xbox One S

Followed essentially by - "But you shouldn't buy it, because next year we have the real improved Xbox one which will make everything else redundant #6TerraFlops' .....

They messed up product announcement wise by muddying the water.

As for PS-VR, i think we can extrude the external breakout processing box is taking a lot of the weight off the current PS4 ...

I wouldn't be surprised if games using PS4 current have a limit on framerates to 30FPS (per eye) and adoptable resolution to keep it there.

With PS4 Neo we may see fixed resolution rather than adaptive ... But would not expect it to increase FR above 30 per eye.

You'd think that, but where does that put the Neo? How much extra processing is that wee box doing? I mean if it can all be offloaded onto that then maybe there's no VR boost for Neo? As I say I'm just left wondering more :)

Also: What happened to Microsoft's room projection tech? I keep expecting to see more from it each E3 but another one has passed with no announcements.

The difference with Neo hardware is that it's not just for benefit of VR. It's more for the benefit of 4K TV's which are replacing 1080p devices as their prices plummet at retail and the Neo supporting 4K Blu-ray and 4K in apps like Netflix. It will be for upscaling existing games and possibly enhancing frame rates in newer titles. All those benefits are not for VR.

Exactly! And they kinda screwed themselves ("Osborned" themselves) by telling people not to buy anymore Xboxes, by announcing the replacement is so close at hand...

Or is it? It seems like by announcing it early, they didn't get a chance to get themselves (Microsoft) to agree on what it is...see this article (I posted it over at the Xbox thread) where it seems like they don't even know what the next thing is...

I know there's confusion. I didn't realize Scorpio was already gonna be next year...

Here's a latest explanation:

Sounds just like PS4 NEO - just making a better experience at 1080p/60 plus VR (Oculus Rift is the rumor right now).

Seems like XBox One will be available in the used stores on the cheap (you can already get MS Refurbished ones on sale for $199 now at Best Buy), XBox One S for those who want new and will eventually get 4K UHD BR Discs, and Scorpio for those with a 4K TV.

Seems like a great deal to me. It isn't like what Sega did - leaving people "behind"...
