Almost feel sorry for Liverpool but one sending off shouldn't have had such an adverse reaction...especially against a City side that is still questionable defensively. Maybe too reliant on Mane.
Liverpool relied heavily on Mane last, season, and Liverpool are weaker every time he is not in the squad; but going down to ten men hurts a
lot more than losing Mane. Once that happened the game was lost, though the scoreline didn't need to be that bad. The thing is, Klopp will never play it safe in those circumstances; he'll keep trying to score goals and that will force Liverpool's already mediocre defense to play at a serious disadvantage.
The only thing that hurt was Pep's platitudinous "it's never easy to play against 10 men" line -a lie at the best of times anyways, but come on Pep, it's VERY easy to play against a 10-man Liverpool and everyone knows it.
On to next week. In a way, Liverpool's results against either Manchester team (both of whom have deeper and substantially more expensive squads, let's not forget) are irrelevant - the Mancunians will finish 1-2. Liverpool should realistically be targeting third or fourth, which means beating the mediocre teams and maintaining a good record against Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
Arsenal back to winning ways, though Bournemouth were a doormat. Mark Hughes forgot that ex-Man Utd players are supposed to roll over for their former club...and got a bit chippy with Mou.
