Still reeling from the news that Sweden knocked Italy out.

We could host a heck of a tournament in the US this summer for teams not going to the World Cup...

The Italians were complacent, not to mention more than a bit entitled, and I must say it is nice to see the so-called 'aristocrats' of football humbled every so often.

Can we join you after the group stages?

That is funny.

Well, I don't usually shy away from criticising them when they are dreadful, or worse, when they are agonisingly brittle and lacking the will and spine to contest a match with serious intent.

Today, they were actually the better team.

they were better but at least one goal i'd say was truly in need of being called back. but, again, Spurs didn't rise.

Agreed, but Arsenal attacked the game and made clear their hunger and appetite for the contest until the very end.

They had other chances that they failed to convert, so, while one goal was somewhat 'iffy', they actually could have scored others had they taken their chances.

This Arsenal fan is also very pleased.

Well, yes, four yellow cards, but three points on the board and two goals in the net.
I thought you might be!

Watch Man U for the first time in England, hopefully they will do well.
Live? Looking alright so far. Need Lukaku to score another for my fantasy team at work.

AFB, did your manager get sacked?
Yup! Don't think the next one will be long!

Nobody wanted Moyes. Even the board only gave him a contract until the summer.

So the fans were on his back before Sunday. Then loosing the way we did hardly inspires. Especially when you consider the opposition.

Championship football next year unless we can turn this bunch of under performers round.

Well, seriously, while I accept that poor Mr Moynes mightn't have been the most inspired appointment, the overpaid 'under-performers' really do need to justify their existence and their blasted (and bloated) salaries by turning in a half decent performance occasionally and demonstrating that they actually care about stupid stuff such as outcomes, results, fans, the club that pays them and silly stuff of that kind.

Personally, I have never understood how individuals who are paid stupid money - tens of thousands of some currency per week - to do something they love and are good at, whose lives are taken care of in almost every other way - cannot summon the desire, commitment, work ethic and motivation to play as if they cared and as if their lives depended upon it, week after week.

Likewise. Sadly I was never blessed with much footballing skills (physically). I have a good footballing brain, but that's not the same thing!
But I'd happily play for West Ham for what I'm paid now. Sadly on recent performances it looks like I might do a better job.

Big day for me...Columbus play the home leg of their two-legged tie against Toronto to see who goes to the MLS Cup final. AND Liverpool with a big match in Sevilla.

Both tough matches, and I think the balance of probability lies in favor of a draw in both cases. Columbus really need to win and keep Toronto from scoring in order to progress, because there is very little chance of winning in Toronto.

Well when I checked the scores earlier I saw Liverpool cruising to victory. But they managed to turn it around and get a draw!
Sounds like my team!

Very disappointing. However, it's worth pointing out that Liverpool were playing away, to a very good team who have an excellent record in their home stadium. The end result is not that bad, but the manner in which it happened deflating.

With that being said, at this level there is no excuse for blowing a 3-0 lead like that.
