I would have preferred Ajax, for the nostalgia, but congrats to Spurs for pulling off their own comeback.

An all-English final, between two teams that have shown a great deal of resilience this season.

Resilience is almost an understatement.

Guts, determination, ferocity, belief, passion, playing as a team....shared vision, ambition, etc.

And just guess how gutted Manchester City must be tonight.

Well its the comeback week, so you never know! A Chelsea v Arsenal Europa final and a Liverpool v Spurs CL final will make it an interesting end to the season!

Yes, but as Arsenal are currently leading after the first leg of the tie, I'm not sure I'd welcome such a "comeback", and would, instead, far prefer robust confirmation of the current situation.

However, Mr Emery does have an excellent record in this competition, thus, one can hope.

Well best of luck with it. You should be okay.

Arsenal have had a very inconsistent season, with some high highs and some bizarre lows. As I said before, this season is a writeoff - Emery has just come in and nobody should be expecting anything. In that context, if they win the Europa League final I'd call the season a big, unexpected success. There are storms on the horizon with the rebuilding project, but in the short term there is still a chance to win some silverware AND qualify for the CL. Chelsea will be a very tough opponent, but I am expecting a close match as long as both clubs show up.

I agree that expectations should be tempered with caution and managed carefully; I suspect that a fourth place would have exceeded such expectations (although it would have been very welcome, and it was well within Arsenal's grasp) and that Emery knows perfectly well that he will need at least two or three further transfer windows in order to be able to craft the team to his specifications.

Reading about EasyJet and the like tripling the airfares for UK fans to get to Madrid.

That sort of greed really annoys me.

Mind you if Chelsea and Arsenal make it to the final, it’s already pretty expensive to get to Baku.

My brother already booked flights for Madrid prior to Liverpool kicking off and looking at the prices today has saved about £700! It’s bloody criminal how the airlines are heaping on huge increases. Some fans will be paying about £2.5k with flights, transfers, tickets and hotels.

If I had a ticket I’d be driving lol.

Did he book his hotel as well?
Bloody criminal isn’t it?

I don’t know to honest. He was a season ticket holder at Anfield for 16 years through the 80’s and 90’s and travelled to Europe a lot during that time. Knowing him he’ll just go out there and try and wing it. I’m sure he’ll spend plenty of time in a pub too lol.
Well due to the price hikes I’m going to buy tickets to wherever the 2021/2022 final is as West Ham are bound to qualify!

That's insane. It's disgusting that the airlines claim that their "demand driven pricing" is NOT price gouging when demand-driven pricing is, by definition, a form of gouging. Worse still - it's not like this benefits the local community, since the profit all goes to the airlines and is in fact probably robbing travelers of spending power at their destination.

For this final I might slap on my Liverpool shirt and just find a pub in either Salford or Southwark Park :p
I’ll be watching in a pub or more likely at home with a cup of tea!

Agreed although I do feel the fans might find a few quid for a beer or two!

Yeah because the airlines don't already make a killing on Britons who insist on visiting Ibiza and Mallorca every spring and summer? :p You can make them out a mile away. Often disheveled and piss drunk by 4 PM.

4pm? Why so late? The Witherspoons at Birmingham Airport always has some drinkers in there, no matter how early I fly!

They let you board a plane plastered? My go to for flying is a pint of ale with 1-2 shots of whiskey dumped into it. The draft tastes better. A 1st gen OTC allergy pill helps numb your brain out. The racket jets make is awful. Private jets are a bit quieter though you tend to drink more given the narrower tube. If it's got a couch in it, I call dibs after a few glasses of whiskey and a small handful of those allergy pills. A 5+ hour trip goes by fast.

Some of our clients sent their aircraft to us. A nice touch. I made ample use of those tiny couches. For any jet charter we've taken, it's nothing fancy. It's small, louder and less relaxing.

I never drink on planes. Just water. If it’s a long flight a tea or coffee.

What does BA give out for tea these days? Last commercial flight I took with them they gave out Lipton tea bags... Granted, it was a few years after the recession...
