Arsenal just conceded an equalizer to Sheffield United in the 87th minute, and then almost conceded a second a couple minutes later. They've faded badly in this cup tie, and extra time seems certain now.

EDIT: And as I type Ceballos scores! He looks to have saved the tie for the gunners.

Norwich just haven't been good enough this season but they pushed Man Utd really hard yesterday. Man City still have to be big favorites for the Cup, as they look to salvage the season with a major trophy.
FA cup and fourth place (or fifth if Mac City are banned) would be a good finish for them.

Poch was given an impossible task - to win the Premier League and compete in Europe with an excellent first XI but no depth and a lower-midtable budget. Few could have done better at the job but in the end it was too much.

Money matters a lot. People talking about a Liverpool dynasty need to remember that while Liverpool are wealthy the Manchester clubs and Chelsea are richer than Liverpool and always will be, at least for the foreseeable future. They have a perennial advantage.

4th would be amazing but quite unlikely. I doubt Arsenal can leapfrog Man Utd and Chelsea. Man Utd have stuttered often this year but they are very hard to beat while Arsenal, on the other hand, have lost a number of games they should have won or drawn. Under these circumstances - and considering the quality of the teams above them - 6th is actually a decent finish.

I was talking about Man Utd. No Arsenal won’t finish higher than 7th I don’t think.

On paper today's Leicester-Chelsea tie sounds exciting, but Chelsea are very much in form while Leicester have been shaky. Could be a rout, I fear.

Ah, my mistake. It's definitely possible, though Chelsea are on better form at the moment. Arsenal would have to win out the season and Man Utd & Chelsea would both have to drop a lot of points for the gunners to leapfrog them. Unlikely, to say the least.

No, Arsenal won't - not on current form - finish higher than sixth or seventh.

However, while Sheffield United could have won today's Cup tie, Arsenal also had some excellent opportunities (Pepe missed a very good chance) to put themselves further ahead.

And, historically, or traditionally, Arsenal have been a rather good Cup side.

Mate of mine said this about THE MASSIVE WEDNESDAY

"Forestieri, Fletcher, and Fox have all refused to re-sign, with Hutch and Winnall not offered extensions, so those five will be out of contract on the 30th and will not be around to see out the season. Keiran Lee and Atdhe Nuhiu have both signed short-term deals to see out this bizarre campaign.

Hints at Forestieri heading up to Leeds, which would make him rather unpopular at Hillsborough one can conclude. You can just see him getting healthy and his old form back with them, can't you? That'd be tough to swallow.

With that many regulars on their way out, it looks like Wednesday will be more-or-less rebuilding from scratch, whether that's their intent or not. I'm not disappointed, myself, as I thinks it's been a sh*t, gutless squad for a while. I wish I could say I was confident that they'll do better going forward. At least we won't be watching the same boring sh*t next time 'round."

I am agreed.

100%

Leicester started better than I feared, it's been a nice back and forth match. Leicester have created more chances but Chelsea have had several as well and Pulisic has forced a couple excellent saves from Schmeichel. Chelsea have a lot more of the ball but we all know Leicester don't need possession to score.

I'd forgotten Forestieri was still there. Lots of clubs facing some odd situations with players' contracts running out in June. If next season starts on time or nearly on time, we could see a lot of understrength/cobbled-together sides as clubs scramble to sort things out on reduced budgets.

Saw an article speculating on Harry Kane's future. I don't see him going anywhere this summer, but it made me think that his career is at a strange point.

In 2018 during the World Cup he almost could have gone anywhere, such was his reputation at that point. For reason often beyond his control (injuries) I don't feel like he's at that stage anymore.

And warm congratulations: As a Liverpool fan, you must be delighted, both at the fact that you have claimed the Premiership, and by the way that Klopp - whom I think a most impressive manager and a very decent and ethical human being - led you to it. Very well done.
Thanks. I won't lie, it wasn't the euphoric release we craved and thought we were going to get all season.

For me the feeling is one of relief. It's something that successive Liverpool teams and managers have been weighed down by. Now it's finally out of the way. Sort of surreal thinking of us as Premier League champions. I always back us in Europe but I just never truly believed this day would come.

Man United in control at Brighton. I bet @JamesMike is enjoying this one!
Currently 0-3 but I suspect they will get at least another.

They didn't, but that's okay. Bruno is still looking a bit "off", but scored two goals anyway. Great strike by young Mason Greenwood for the first and a fantastic counter for the third. Excellent team performance overall, though they switched off a bit in the second half and the quality declined when the subs started coming in. Brighton can defend well, but I expect they were looking forward to the Norwich match, which means a lot more to them in their efforts to stay up.

Sadly it looks like Angel Gomes is moving on. Very talented lad, but I expect he may not have the physical attributes to make it in England, though that may not stop Chelsea from signing him. Hope he goes abroad and it works out well for him.

Leicester City have, sadly, gone off the boil. I had them almost nailed down for a top four finish but it now looks almost certain that Chelsea and Man Utd will likely leapfrog them by the end of the season. They are too reliant on Vardy, for one thing, and he can't be expected to do it all himself.

At the bottom of the table, everyone seems to be struggling badly. I had thought we'd see one of the teams in the bottom four put together a little run and pull themselves out of danger, but that hasn't happened - yet. Fine margins.

Maddison has really struggled over the past few months. I think he's had some injury problems, but they're definitely not staying top 4 if he doesn't find form again soon. As a Man Utd fan, though, I wouldn't mind so much if he fails to do so.

Any little winning run probably won't start this match week as they all have tough games against top sides, and Bournemouth faces Newcastle who's been on good form. I wouldn't be surprised to see the current bottom three go down. West Ham is a better side than Bournemouth, though I haven't closely studied the strength of the remaining schedules.

I’m hoping against hope we get something against Chelsea tonight. But more likely we will just lose our GD advantage. Pretty sure it will be a pretty low points that keeps you up.
Our last game is against Villa and that could well decide either their fate or ours!
Unless of course we both need a draw and the scoreline is predetermined!

Well, I confess myself pleased; a good win (4-0) against......Norwich (who actually played well for a period of around twenty minutes at the beginning of the second half).

Three wins in the past week; and seen out of the last ten (interspersed with two more recent defeats).

That defence is still leaky and porous and brittle, and prone to appalling lapses in concentration, but nevertheless, a marked improvement. And another three points.
