Hold tight.

One point will be a respectable, and welcome, and worthy result from the evening's activity, whereas two would be invaluable.
Two? I think you mean three for a win! My Arsenal friend just called but I said to call back in a bit. In 30 minutes I could be a very happy hammer!

Who's this? Jack Wilshire!

You are right, this multi-gaskin nonsense does not accord at all well with my temperament.

Of course, (blushes becomingly), I meant three points - (revealing my antiquity there, when wins earned the victorious team a mere two miserable points); but, now, - as Chelsea have clawed a goal back, to 2-2 - it could still rest at one point apiece.

I hope so. But that VAR decision seems very odd from the first half.

Besides Liverpool and assuming Man City get banned from Europe next season what’s your top 4 look like?
Well if Leicester don't start scoring, they are in danger of falling out of the top four for me.

Yeah but would you have said Chelsea was winnable before this game?
Probably not. Although we did the double over them this year.

@Apple fanboy and @Scepticalscribe congratulations, I'm sure you are pleased as punch!

Pretty pleased, yes, thank you.

Mind you, there were a nervous twenty minutes (at 2-0 up) early in the second half - which tells you more than is good for one's peace of mind about how uneasy and uncomfortable I am with anyone even greeting that porous and brittle defence........

But, yes, the overall current trajectory allows for some slightly optimistic thoughts to begin to take shape.

Pretty nervy here to. I couldn't relax until it was done.

Well, a very valuable (and unexpected) - and yes, richly deserved and merited - three points for you.

As it happens, I'm also at that nervy stage, whereby, even if we are leading by three goals to nil, I still expect that defence to contrive a way to fall asleep, or to somehow engineer a comically catastrophic blunder.

I think that points could be won - and dropped - in each of those games.

However, you should take some points from some of those teams, and last night's victory puts you in a very strong position re the other team battling relegation.

I could see them winning all of them but the Man U match.
But maybe even that one!

But, football is a crazy game and I could see it all going pear shaped as well.

Not against Burnley, who are a good team; Newcastle, as well, may have a point to prove. As indeed, may the others.

However, West Ham have given themselves a far stronger possibility of survival; this is an excellent time to have been able to put three points between you and the teams fighting relegation immediately beneath you in the table.

And, in my experience, the very worst time - the most dangerous time - to have to face a bottom place team is when the season approaches its conclusion; they will be fighting, sometimes, fiercely, for their very survival, and the players - some of who may end up having to be sold once relegation occurs, will also be mindful of the need to put themselves in the shop window and therefore, will play for both themselves and for the team with the sort of ambition and skill and talent that may have been lacking all season.

I gave West Ham no chance against what has been a very in-form Chelsea, but wow, great match and a great result for the Hammers. As long as they can maintain their focus survival is looking a a lot more plausible now.

Norwich are all but gone; Bournemouth and Watford appear to be in free-fall; Villa have a horrible run-in. At least three of those four clubs seem certain to finish below West Ham now, I would think. But you still do have to collect some points, so hopefully the players use this win against Chelsea as a motivator to go and finish the job.

Just finished the Spurs/Sheffield United match. The Spur's defense was poor to say the least.

Looking forward to the Liverpool Champion's match coming up. I don't think my two Liverpool friends have slept since they won the League Championship, lol!

Spurs looked bad. Some have been arguing for a while now that Mourinho is past it, and so far he has done little at Spurs to suggest otherwise. Arsenal supporters everywhere are now hoping to celebrate a St. Totteringham's Day this season....

And now the Big Match. Hopefully it lives up to its billing.

Actually, I have thought for some time that Mourinho is past it; moreover, his bottomless negativity seems to sap the energy and creativity of whatever team he manages.

It is difficult to imagine now how fresh and imaginative and creative he was when he arrived initially, and that this was a manager who set the Premiership alight during his first period in charge of Chelsea.

I just don't see how that could be called a handball in that instance though.

Doesn't matter as they would have gotten beat 3-2 but still...

MC just scored on an excellent counter-attack against the Spurs. MC is letting people know they are on par with the Champions.
