It was all good natured stuff. But yes they are a good team. I’d quite happily find a spot for one or two of their stars at West Ham. Who knows in a few years when they are old and injury prone looking for a last big pay check, perhaps they will grace the London Stadium!

Wouldn't say no to finding a place at the Emirates (damn, I almost wrote Highbury) for Virgil van Dijk, myself.

The odds were 5000-1 against it happening the first time, so the odds of something similar happening again are "highly unlikely" to say the least!

With the Bundeliga, Serie A and La Liga so boringly uncompetitive right now at the top (unless you find the interminable Barca/Real duopoly entertaining), stories like Leicester's are even more amazing.
Some did quite well from backing Leicester! In the run in from the season before they won it, they were actually the most in form team in the league, escaping relegation. Still, you'd never expect them to carry that form for an entire season.

Bournemouth put up more of a fight against Man Utd that I expected, but they were ultimately overpowered. Important win for Leicester to stop their recent slide, and the same goes for Arsenal.

Shame that Bayern is walking the cup against Leverkusen. When Bayern can stroll the league even during a rebuilding year...not a great advertisement for the league.

I still enjoy watching most German sides play though.

The whole league, imho, plays very a very attractive style.

A good result indeed. Where’s Norwich and Bournemouth’s defeats leave them very much in trouble. I think Norwich are gone now. I think one more defeat and Bournemouth will also be gone.

Yes, I think the Norwich are beyond rescue.

However, Bournemouth - who played very well and fought hard today, and put two goals past Manchester Unite, are on almost identical points, (and stats, victories, draws, defeats, goal difference) to Villa, but Villa have a game in hand.

Watford are two points ahead of the bottom three, on 29, and West Ham - at 30, a point ahead again - have hauled thmlsevs out of immediate danger with that victory against Chelsea this week.

Villa are still in the drop zone after today's defeat to Liverpool; their run-in is very unkind and I fear their only chance for safety is to scrape a couple points and hope another team fares worse than they do. That team could be Watford. While Villa lost Watford are only a point ahead of them and could end up with a worse goal difference if they get hammered by Chelsea today....and that could happen as Chelsea are still trying to finish as high as possible.

Liverpool looked on the beach today until Klopp subbed in Hendo, Firmino and Wijnaldum on the hour. The effort was there but the sharpness was lacking. Good to see Curtis Jones score his first Premier League goal. From what I have seen so far he has the quality to be a Premier League player.

@Apple fanboy: There is an interesting article (just published) in the Guardian (by Jonathan Wilson) comparing and contrasting the respective experiences of West Ham and Sunderland under the management of David Moyes. Well worth a read.

I haven't got around to watching the second season of Sunderland till I Die - the first season was excellent.

We had a good game with Newcastle. A win and I’d probably say we were pretty safe. But even a draw puts three points between us and the bottom three. With a superior GD that effectively puts us 4 points away from the bottom three. As long as we win the games against those below us we should be fine. Hard to see Norwich, Bournemouth or Villa staying up for me.

West Ham have given themselves a fair chance of remaining in the Premiership; a win and a draw over their last two games have ensured that a very welcome gap of four points now lie between them and the danger zone.

Earlier, Liverpool took some time to defeat Villa, - it must be quite difficult to remain focussed and hungry when you have already won the Premiership - while sheffield United and Burnley drew with a goal apiece.

Elsewhere, at the moment, Southampton lead Manchester City by a goal to nil.

Agree. Our run in and points advantage makes staying up look achievable.

Wow.

Southampton defeat Manchester City - deservedly - by a goal to nil.
I just came here to see this.

We March On.

I wonder how many (myself included) would have thought that the result this morning by Saints was achievable.
Second half we had every man behind the ball and still managed to make the odd foray into the Man City half.

What a goal for Che Adams to get off the mark in the Premier League, too!

Well done. But you really didn’t help my fantasy team!

Man City's defeat shows just how tuned out Liverpool are right now to let themselves get beaten 4-0 by them, and how inconsistent Man City have been this season after being so consistently good the previous season.

...which is not to say Southampton didn't deserve their win. It was an excellent goal and a committed performance from the whole squad.

Sort of a big game today between Norwich and Watford....Norwich are toast, though mathematically still alive I think. Neither team can afford anything other than a win.

Pukki starts for Norwich, perhaps he will play spoiler to Watford's hopes?

Sort of a big game? Relegation costs a club mire than the top club gets from winning it if they don’t bounce strait up

A Norwich win for me please. Don’t think it would be enough to save them, but it will keep Watford below us.

A goal each so far.

Pulisic scores again. Excellent news for USA fans. I feared he'd be a benchwarmer at Chelsea, but he's getting both minutes and goals.

I meant that mostly in the sense that from a Norwich perspective even a win here is probably irrelevant - only an incredible stroke of luck will save them now. But for the rest of the relegation battlers this is of course HUGE match. I'm sure West Ham fans have suddenly developed a big soft spot for Norwich today!
