Not great for us, but not terrible. Hopefully

Man Utd can score a few against Villa.

@JamesMike if your lot are losing at half time can you give them a rocket up the backside!

Watching the match now, they better not half-step or they will get the fury of the four-legged Man U fan in the house. Millie is stretched out on her Man U blanket with treat jar close at hand and sharping her claws.

Fish? I’m sure they will be acceptable Millie treats.
Villa are not playing badly. Hope you can find a way through their defence before long.

Soft pen. I guess not clear enough video evidence to overturn it. Moss is a dreadful ref, but he's made some bad calls both ways.

And Mason Greenwood with a lightning bolt from his "weaker" right foot. The lad is really something.

Well, re Spurs, my opinion of the negativity of Mourinho has not changed; his best days as a coach with vision, charisma and flair are long been hm and these days, his second season is what his third season used to be.

As for Manchester United, the purchase of Bruno Fernandes (dodgy penalty notwithstanding) looks to have been not just an excellent purchase, but the kind of purchase that puts some key pieces of a planned jigsaw, or mosaic, in place, and one that will enable Manchester United to function properly and collectively as a formidable team, rather than an unbalanced collection comprised of some pretty talented individual footballers.

He does seem like a bargain right now. Certainly the first name I'd put on the team sheet if I was Ole currently.

He has made the team somehow click, and function as a team, a collective, a unit; to my mind, he is possibly the most important purchase that Manchester United have made in years, and his influence, since he has been bought, has been extraordinary.

Jordan Henderson is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, and could miss the start of next season. No surgery needed, but bad news as Liverpool chase Man City's points record.

Back in the US, more bad news as Nashville have been pulled from the MLS is Back tournament aver ten players and staff tested positive for COVID 19. They've shuffled the groups around to compensate.

Bad news about Jordan Henderson's injury; he is a fine footballer and an excellent captain.

I sincerely hope that his injury permit him to be the person who formally receives and lifts the Premier League trophy when Liverpool are finally, formally, presented with it on the last day of the current season.

At this stage, I am not so sure that Liverpool will actually surpass Manchester City's points record; since the restart of the season, especially since they have actually now won the title, which is the key thing, they have looked less hungry, and, less motivated, an less focussed that chasing and claiming a record would seem to call for.

Really sorry to hear that but what does it actually mean? Current season finishes in July and new season starts (is it?) 8th August. So he might be out for a month or 5 weeks? Strange times.

I guess there are a few of you out there with lots of football knowledge and also old enough to understand the history of Leeds United good and bad. An epic return to the Premier League wow!

Been a while hasn’t it. One of my best friends is a Leeds fan.

After all Leeds have been through it just astounds me they are back. Hope 'Norman bites yer legs Hunter' gets a place in the first team...............

Oh I just have to say it. 1970's football paired up with VAR. What would that look like? I just fell off my chair laughing.

5 a side?

Let's just go to the late 80's when Vinnie Jones grabbed a hold of Gazza's crown jewels. VAR?

Sorry should be a new thread its not the current season, but funny anyway :)

Back on track. I personally would feel very sorry to lose Bournemouth. They gave a lacklustre Spurs a run for their money and always entertain. Would be equally sad to lose the Hammers, again can be flamboyant and just steeped in history.

So who would be your bottom 3 this season?
[automerge]1594395276[/automerge]
I am going Norwich, Aston Villa, Watford.

Champions League, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd. Leicester City are in free fall.

As for Europa League............who really cares?

As long as West Ham aren’t part of it I’m happy! But due to living near Birmingham I’d love to see Villa go. Especially if West Brom come up. They would hate that!

It sounds like Hendo will return sometime in August, so he might miss the first few matches.. It's unfortunate that he won't be able to finish out a season that has, for him, been a personal landmark. But Klopp's latest comments suggest the injury is not serious, so that is a relief.

RE: Leeds. I am, excited to see Bielsa even more than the club, though it's a historic moment to see them back in the top flight. With Bielsa you always get exciting football and plenty of drama.

Ah the politics of football I won't ask about Millwall and the dockers strikes hehe

That is interesting if Villa go and Brom come up I didn't see that. Brummy friction for sure.

Its all a wash for me. This weekend will no doubt see the humiliation of Spurs at the hands of Arsenal and put the final nail in an awful season :-(

It is OK to make jokes during these hard times it keeps us going. Forgive me if I am not the first to say this but after the Bournemouth vs Spurs game we have VAR-19 I think :)

Disheartening "news" from Man City, with Pep being quoted thus on his confidence that their Champions League ban will be reversed on appeal:

“On Monday I’m so confident – because I know and hear the arguments of the club – [that] next season we will be there and after I will give my opinion and the club will give a statement,” he said.

Man City cheated FFP and got caught. If they are not punished it will be just another illustration of how rotten football administration and the business of football has become. Pep's statement suggests that the club think they will get away with it.

I sincerely hope that they don't, but I fear that whatever sanction is handed to them (perhaps a one year ban, rather than two) may be less than they deserve.
