We have Leicester on Sunday. I’m not very hopeful to be honest. Hoping Vardy takes the week off.

The way Vardy made fools of Man City's defense was awe-inspiring. But Leicester are very reliant on him.

My evil side would love to see Vardy go to Atletico Madrid and line up between Costa and Suarez in a 4-3-3. Shudder.

Mind you, they face Manchester City next; if they win that, they will be able to say that they took the more changing route to success.

I don't think I'm being controversial when I say that Arsenal should now be seen as favorites against City. Pep's boys are in a bit of a funk at the moment. Arteta can build a lot of momentum here.

Champions League draw is taking place right now.

Liverpool in Group D, drawn with Ajax and Atalanta so far. Tough group
Man Utd in Group G, drawn against PSG (again) and RB Leipzig. Tough group
Chelsea in Group E, drawn against Sevilla and Kradnodar. Looks easy
City in Group C against Porto and Olympiacos. Also a kind-looking draw

Man Utd's is perhaps the toughest draw on paper - but remember that RB no longer have Timo Werner. They are still a good team but that could make a big difference. With PSG, you never know what you'll get. Both teams will likely attack Man Utd, which is good news for OGS.

Chelsea definitely got an easy draw, with their firepower they have no excuse for not winning their group. Porto could be a tough challenge for City if the latter are still in poor form when they face them. Marseille are not a bad team either, though City have no business not winning this group if you go purely on budget and available talent.

Liverpool should get a good challenge from Ajax and Atalanta, but obviously 'Pool are favorites there.

Sadio Mané has tested positive for COVID. Still looking like isolated incidents, and he is not seriously ill, but two players is too many.

With fixture congestion at an all-time high plus the pandemic, even the richest clubs are going to be very hard put to it to meet all their match obligations this season. Things could get dicey very fast.

I finally got hold of the recent BBC doco Liverpool FC: The 30 Year Wait. Nothing earth-shattering but well done. They didn't shy away from all the terrible moments of the last 30 years either, which made it a real roller coaster to watch. High highs and low lows.

It's a proven thing that being a fan of a sports team is more pain than pleasure.

Unfortunately I got the news about Mané after I made my FPL transfer for the week. :/

But seriously: I hope he recovers quickly and nobody else catches it.

He's far from the most famous person to announce being infected today...but it's still big (bad) news for Liverpool. You could argue he's the best striker in Europe (on the planet?) at the moment. Certainly few are near the same level. Losing a player of that quality is bad no matter how you slice it.

But of course his wellbeing comes first, and that of the rest of the squad. I'd rather Liverpool win nothing this season than have even one player get seriously ill.

We had two players and our manager out last weekend. How many would you need to be ill before a game is called off? Troubling times.

I see Chilwell is already contributing to Chelsea with a goal and an assist.

I need my team, Man U, firing on all cylinders tomorrow against the Spurs.

Indeed they shall. Man City were unlucky not to win. But that’s the way it goes sometimes.

Ederson saved two certain goals, I think Man City were lucky not to lose, though Man Cit also hit the bar and Leeds came close to conceding a late penalty when the pitch got really greasy from the rain.

I think a draw is fair result, but Pep will be frustrated.

I didn’t see it, but I read Man City should have had a few more in the first half in particular. Highlights on later.

Man City certainly had chances to win it, but Leeds also could have with a little more clever finishing.

I think the key for Leeds was that they were just about able to maintain their press for the whole match, which prevented Man City from being able to camp in Leeds box and focus completely on scoring for the last ten minutes. Which is what they are usually allowed to do.

With so many possible ins/outs of Arsenal 'expected', at this rate, I will be very surprised if we get anyone in or out. Lucas is virtually done, but, if Atletico do not sell a player, that one might not even happen.

Pins and needles...

Madison missing for Leicester in our game today. I wonder if it’s due to an upcoming transfer? Anyway happy he is out. I’d have been happier if Vardy was out too.
Come on you Irons!

Three points (and three goals) for West Ham (against Leicester), earlier, Southampton defeated West Brom by two goals to nil, and Arsenal have just taken the lea against Sheffield United.

Sheffield United have had one shot on target thus far...and that came in the 80th minute. A walk in the park for Arsenal.

EDIT:...till they leak a goal in the 84th minute. Surely they won't crumble at the last?

That was the worst 45 minutes of play by my team! Just horrible!

And while many will praise Harry Kane, I think that Son has played exceptionally well.

4-1 to Spurs (against Manchester United) at half time.

And, now, ten minutes into the second half, Spurs have made it five goals to one.
