Letting Putin buy 2018 and help engineer this idiotic 2022 affair in Qatar sure looks brilliant for FIFA these days, doesn't it? Then again, they are shameless/hubristic and thus immune to criticism. They still do actually think it's brilliant.
Thought we were the better team overall but couldn’t find the net. Awesome season though and 2 trophies so can’t really complain.
Seems like Liverpool can’t score goals when it really counts. A bit surprising to be honest considering the players they have.
I feel down today, but in reality Liverpool have had an incredible season and anyone who says otherwise is, to put it nicely, incorrect. The team played every match they possibly could, won two trophies and took the other two competitions to the wire. A hair's breadth from a quadruple.
The two teams that pipped 'Pool to the title and CL have more resources, are financially doping, are stacked with talent and nobody can expect to beat them. Yet we came incredibly close in both cases. The Liverpool team that went out yesterday an elite unit but with an incredible number of miles on the clock. The players are not machines, and they lacked that tiny edge.
Anyway, I'm not greedy. Being able to watch a team and manager of this quality is a gift and they've given me some incredible memories. Hopefully we get a few more seasons of the magic.
Columbus won yesterday - a road win too, after a dire patch of form. There is always something to be grateful for! Go Crew!

My Little Man wanted to see his favourite player Mo Salah. Took him to LFC’s parade.
They won fairly easily and face Wales on Sunday for a World Cup berth.
A great result for Ukraine…and with all due respect to Wales, I hope the Ukrainians stomp them and stamp their ticket to the World Cup.
I think that’s the view most have. Unser different circumstances I’d usually want to see Scotland or Wales qualify. But I think the Ukraine deserve all the breaks they can get about now.
Boo to Wales, you've killed the biggest World Cup feel good story and I still can't forgive golfer and part-time footballer Gareth Bale for his goal against 'pool in that previous CL final. 
Would have like to see Ukraine in Qatar. I don't have Fox Sports /FS1 so I won't be tuning in to most of the matches....I'll probably watch the USMNT matches and the semis/final from a friend's house or pub.
But I'd feel dirty getting a new subscription just to watch this farce. There will be other world cups (i.e. USA 2026) much more worthy of my money and time.

Living in Wales myself the Welsh seem to be pretty happy with the result lol. Would have been nice for both of them to go through to be honest. They'll sail through qualifying with ease, arrive at the tournament with inflated expectations, have an OK-but-not-great group stage, win their round of 16 game with a so-so performance, and then go out to the first real in-form contender they face.
And once the tournament ends the media designate that cycle's Unfairly Scapegoated Player of the Tournament. Followed by the now-obligatory arrest(s) of a fan(s) for online racist abuse of said player.
Sounds about right. Unless you play a trio of West Ham players of course. Then you win the thing!

If West Ham's success is essential to England's world Cup fortunes, why is David Moyes at the helm? (I kid)
They did go to the semifinals of the previous World Cup and the finals of Euro 2020, but there's plenty of time for England to revert to their traditional form. Their squad is definitely not in as good of a place as in 2021, but there's still some months left for the final seat assignments on the plane to be decided.
I agree that Qatar is a sickeningly corrupt farce, but I'll no doubt watch anyway. Maybe not as enthusiastically as usual.
We won’t do well at the WC. The excuses are already set up.
- Too many games in the domestic league (the argument the top teams like to use as they would rather not have 20 teams).
- Too hot. Suits players from warmer climates.
- Wrong time of year/season.
A lot of the star players are gassed, even those from 'smaller' teams (heck, the Championship season alone is a real grind).
