Klopp adds another major trophy to his glittering Liverpool CV - indeed he’s pretty much completed the set now. A special manager who has already built a towering legacy in the pantheon of great managers.

I’m over the moon to see ‘Pool win the FA Cup, this squad earned both cup wins this season after really tight, hard battles with Chelsea and both matches really went down to the wire.

Both teams were showing a lot of fatigue. Liverpool will have played every game they could have this season, which is a lot of mileage even given the available squad depth.

How bad was Salah's injury? Going to make it back for the rest of the season?

@Lord Blackadder we did our best for you. Made it go to the wire if you win your game in hand, but ultimately couldn’t hold on for the win having been 2-0 up. Excellent save by Fabanski saved it from being another title win today.
Meanwhile we can still finish 6th, but not if Man Utd puck anything up in their last game. Pretty sure it’s 7th for us. At least we came close to upsetting the greedy six!

Delighted with the Liverpool victory in the FA Cup, - would like to see them claim the Premier League as well - and an excellent West Ham performance against Manchester City.

Excellent indeed. Will enjoy MOTD tonight. A win would have been great. Put us in the driving seat for 6th. But now I’m hoping Man U slip up and we can capitalise.

What is good this year as we head into the final games is the title could still go one of two ways. The CL spots aren’t decided. Europa league spots could change. Even relegation isn’t a sure thing. Makes it more interesting.

A win would have been terrific, true, but a draw (a two all draw, at that, including a saved penalty) against this Manchester City side is no mean achievement, and may be the factor (two dropped points) which allows Liverpool to squeeze past, at the death, to claim the Premier League title.

As for CL spots, Arsenal are still a work in progress, if an improving - but still immature - one, yet one which, moreover, still lacks strength in depth.

Re relegation, while I was sorry to see Spurs destroy us, I am even more sorry to see them defeat Burnley; of the three teams who may yet still stumble through the trapdoor of (of the remaining) relegation spot, I would far prefer to see either Leeds or Everton lose their footing.

The point that Leeds secured today may yet prove invaluable.

Bowen has been sensational this season. Having just watched the highlights it was a great performance from the guys and a really nice send off for Mark Noble.
West Ham legend. Nice to see Sir Trevor Brookin there as well.

For almost twenty years, Mark Noble has been an outstanding - no, an absolute stalwart - for West Ham.

That sort of loyalty to - and identification with - a club (over the course of a career) is rare enough these days, but still lovely to see.

It sure would have been! But a draw against this Man City team - who now cannot afford any more slip ups - is still a great result, and of course a great send off for Mark Noble.

Chelsea fans have some good news today as the women’s team win the FA Cup.
Womens FA Cup final was better than Mens FA Cup final. Beautiful goals and drama.

My 6 yo wore his Home top for the first time and actually watched the full cup final.

Kinda jealous that he choose Liverpool over Arsenal (my club lol).

Unfortunately, Arsenal didn't exactly cover themselves in glory this evening.

Being defeated gallantly is one thing, but losing gutlessly is, alas, quite another.
Hopefully see you in the Europa League draw then. You could still beat Spurs to 4th, but you’ve made it difficult.
Still nice to have some interest up and down the league on the last weekend.

Are you dishearten by such development or are you elated?
Neither.

Actually, I am disgusted.

We were gutless, spineless, useless, worthless. Thoroughy rotten.

According to Granit Xhaka, "we didn't turn up."

Mind you, he also said other things - among them something to do with male reproductive organs as a metaphor for what was lacking from Arsenal's dismal performance.

And he also observed - correctly - “What happened was a disaster performance and like this you don’t deserve to play Champions League, you don’t even deserve to play Europa League."

Newcastle well deserved their win; we were pathetic.

Candidly, at this stage, I doubt that we will manage to obtain fourth place; and, frankly, on recent performances, we don't deserve to.

To be quite candid, if we could place fifth - yet avoid Europa League football, I'd be happier; this is a competition I really do dislike, not least because it is exceptionally demanding of resources (both players and time), yet not especially rewarding (unless one either wins the competition, or, are a team who haven't enjoyed a history, or tradition, of placing in Europe, and therefore, can wholeheartedly enjoy the experience of a run in the competition).

In truth, with two (consecutive, successive) poor performnces, Arsenal have blown their chances of securing fourth place at the end of the season, and not for the first time in recent years.

I don't mind defeat; however, witless, and useless collapse - a lack of a will to compete, to wish to or want ot, or be able to - compete, challenge, - does bother me.

Yes, we have had some serious injuries, - for example, I don't think that Takehiro Tomiyasu is fully fit, he was out for much of the season, and, worse, he still strikes me as somewhat fragile on his recent brief appearances, and possibly prone to fresh knocks, I believe that he may have taken another one at St James's Park; moreover, Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey - two other key players - have also been injured for much of the season.

However, this is something that bedevils other teams, - despite modern diets, training, medicine, resources, ice baths, cryo technology, sports science, etc, the demands of the season mean that extraordinary - and sustained - pressure tends to be placed on players and their bodies, (hence, injuries, sometimes, serious, or sustained, or extensive, or repeated, injuries).

This also tends to expose squads that lack strength in depth, - which is very much the case for Arsenal - or suffer from an over-reliance on a small number of key players, who, if they have managed to remain free from injury, are generally suffering from severe fatigue as the season draws to a close.

It seems as if you are more despondent and dismayed by such execution on the field. Alas, like the good philosopher Jagger once said, you can't always get what you want.

I am disgusted because Arsenal - as both Arteta and Xhaka have already admitted - "Arsenal didn't turn up"; in other words, they offered no real threat, didn't compete, didn't challenge, had no ambition or focus to their game.

This would matter less (and yes, I am factoring in the excuses, or explanations, - injuries, long season, etc) - if they had nothing to play for, - if they were in mid table obscurity and safety - but, if they had claimed even one point (and they have no points, out of a theoretical total of six, from their past two games) they could seriously challenge for fourth place, and hence, a spot in the Champion's League. That is something worth fighting for, and Arsenal failed to fight for it.

Until last week-end, they were in fourth place, well ahead of Spurs, or, rather, advantageously placed vis a vis Spurs, a situation which placed their destiny in their own hands. Now, they have detonated and destroyed themselves (yet again).

Whether this is the effect of injuries, fatigue, or a fatal lack of self-confidence at the close fo the season (and yes, the team still needs investment in a number of important areas), I don't know.

But, their last two games have been shamefully and disgracefully poor (and that is not to criticise either Spurs or Newcastle; they both played superbly, fought hard, took their chances, identified weaknesses, and neutralised whatever strength or threat Arsenal may have offered).

I don't mind defeat; however, I do mind a team that declines to fight, that fails to challenge or offer a contest during a game.

In plain man's terms, your team straightforwardly didn't pull a fight. They just settled into defeat.

I can empathize with said feelings.
