You know, I wish I could feel more enthusiastic, or generous, about acknowledging Erling Haaland's goal scoring achievements or record breaking achievements (which are impressive).

But, I can't.

This is because observing the approach of Manchester City (buttressed by bottomless resources) to ruthlessly squeezing out oxygen for any opponents on the football field - sort of akin to an anaconda - is a deeply depressing experience.

Hoping Brighton can make one of their three games in hand count tonight and get in amongst the greedy six and the CL spots.
For all the talk of Liverpool only bring 4 points behind 4th place, they have played more games than Utd, Toon and Brighton.

Yes, I would like to see Brighton do well, a decent well-run club who play lovely football.

Indeed. I feared once they lost their manager to Chelsea they might not keep their form. But that didn’t materialise.

Interesting to see the PSG fans going after the club suits, Neymar, and Messi. What is interesting is they are NOT protesting against being a state club - the financial doping, being a shill for a dodgy regime in another part of the world, helping to skew football finances globally into a bizarre unreality....no, they are protesting against a lack of results on the pitch and commitment from the players - whom they perceive as being there for the money and not the badge.

Well, duh.

It just goes to show that fans are generally willing to turn a blind eye to any shady behavior on the part of their club owners as long as the results are there. Few actually care about anything else. They are totally happy being financially-doped bullies...they're just upset that they are not very good at the bullying part outside of France in spite of their resources.
Avenged.

Great Pen.

I'm sure Brighton fans would rather have a cup win over this, but they'll enjoy it nonetheless and it does provide some neat symmetry.

Napoli win Serie A in a season of controversy. Osimhen scored the equaliser against Udinese thus sealing the title.

I wonder if he will move to Chelsea or Utd or Arsenal in the summer. And for how much, seeing as Laurentis is notoriously painful to deal with.

United could have used an Osimhen out there today. They have nobody who can reliably lead the attack and put away chances.

The team is unbalanced, and still far too frequently lacking in cohesion as a 'collective', as a team.

Having said that, I am a huge fan of Marcus Rashford the human being.

Good gritty performance from Arsenal. Rode their luck but showed steel against a Newcastle side who had their chances but failed to convert. Also getting a taste of their own game management medicine today.

Jorginho arguably has paid back his transfer fee. What a performance from him, and Odegaard.

In the end, the quality of the midfield decided the match.

Still City's title but at least Arsenal are keeping them honest.
