I think Real Madrid are about to implode somehow, especially if they do not win the league. There was bad scenes when they lost to Arsenal in the champions league, there was more bad scenes when they lost to Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey (their equivalent of the FA Cup) (allegedly extreme bad language towards the referee and also a small object thrown at the referee by a member of Real Madrid when the match finished, so the question that remains is how will they behave/respond if they do not win the league.

Madrid never needed Mbappe. Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Vini were working just fine and won a double. But instead Perez's greed struck again and now they essentially have 2 luxury players who chronically don't track back.

The money should've been used to replace Kroos, Modric and reinforce the defence.

I for one i'm enjoying the meltdown. The level of entitlement from some Madrid faithful is laughable. I don't particularly care for Barca either and find their current transfer policy a joke. But whatever works for them

Meanwhile, Spurs are preditably being spanked by LFC. Thats back to back season where Spurs have effectively rolled over to the eventual title winners. Ange may think he is prioritising the europa league but i don't see his team winning that either. As it stands i don't even consider Spurs a top 10 team anymore, and the gap between them and the top teams seems to be widening.

Been clear that was going to happen for weeks if not months.
Alas, yes, agreed.

The problem - or concern, or issue - is that this has happened with several games remaining - ergo, there is no sense of competition.

Likewise, the fact that all three of last season's promoted teams have been relegated (for the second successive season), and that this, too, has occurred with several remaining games in the season, - thus, removing, any sense of real risk, is, or, ought to be - to my mind at least - a cause for concern.

First time relegation has been decided for all three teams this early. Not food at all.

Liverpool next season will be a totally different prospect than this season because a number of players are due to leave which will upset the dynamic of the team. Slot inherited a league winning side because all the hard work had initially been done by Klopp. All Slot needed to do was keep the momentum going for a good chance to win the league and he has done just that. If what the football press are saying is to be believed approximately at least 5 players are expected to leave Liverpool at the end of the season. New players coming into a team can upset the rhythm of the team and if the manager does not get it right, the once collective adhesiveness of the team can fall apart. 1 player coming in should not be a problem but 5!!. This will test Slot to the max.

That’s not the test. They won this year because City didn’t turn up and Arsenal became the draw specialists.

Exactly.

In a sentence, the season is summed up.
Here’s hoping Arsenal get a good result tonight.
Amen to that.
Is it too much to expect another ‘Real Madrid performance’?
I fear so.

COME ON ARSENAL.
Agree.
I totally agree with that Arsenal bit. We missed an opportunity.
Very much so.

Liverpool won the title with a 2.41 points per match ratio. It is not Liverpool's problem that the other teams did not push them more. The second team has less than 2 points per match. So yeah, a missed opportunity...
