Pep appears to be losing his grip. He’s always been excitable but it’s gotten worse.
True.

However, you have (and had) always and long observed that while Pep is an excellent manager, it is also true that Pep - has also - had also never been truly tested, (neither professionally nor personally, I suspect), in that he had always been in a position where he managed teams stuffed with elite professionals funded by owners with bottomless financial resources.

Pep has never worked in a world where he has been truly tested, or challenged, or where things have gone against him.

...and of course Sunderland lose their next game against Fulham.

Losing Gabriel is a big blow and the conspiracy theorist in me thinks Ancelotti was still salty about the Madrid result that he took liberties
I know i know thats crazy talk

Losing Gabby is a massive blow, i know we have cover. But he's almost singlehandedly won us at least 6 - 9 pts. I would've taken anyone else in defence getting injured but him
I now think we will struggle until Jan when he likely returns

Just don't understand international managers at times. Like why did Tuchel start Rice again after England secured qualification.

Annoyingly, i think City might win the title again.

EDIT: Thankfully NUFC did us a favour. Doesn't mean we'll capitalise btw. I don't enjoy facing Thomas Frank teams.
What irks me most is that this happened in an utterly meaningless friendly, and not in a competitive match where the outcome actually mattered and made a difference to the fortunes of the international team.

Then, while I would still be annoyed, I would understand the necessity to play him in those circumstances; but, to risk such a key player in an encounter that means nothing is infuriating.

did the throwball kc chiefs & sec Alabamie and Man Citeh merge
to promote mediocrity this year?

what a great campaign!

Man City losing to Leverkusen, Barcelona losing to Chelsea… strange. It seems like there is more of a unpredictability in football at the moment, it’ll be interesting to see how well PSG do this year.

[edit] you’re right, of course it was Chelsea who beat Barcelona

Newcastle lost to Marseille. City lost because he did his weird experimenting again and made 10 changes to his team.

Chelsea dismantled Barcelona who now look suspiciously light weight. Of course the fall out is now that Estevao is the next Ronaldo.

Tonight (Ars v Bay) might give a strong indication of who will have a big claim to the UCL trophy

Back to back defeats for Spurs and Pool. Both did ok initially then capitulated

Think the Anfield defeats will be the death knell for Slot. Conceding 7 goals in 2 games at Anfield is untenable

I’d expected a solid Liverpool win, this PSV team aren’t that good. So to lose to them 1-4 at home really shows how the entire squad at Liverpool is slumping. It is a failure to compete, and it says something interesting about Slot as a manager. I don’t think they will drop him so soon after a Premiership win, but maybe they will urge him to try to draw on Klopp’s legacy of producing ‘solid’ teams more.

There were some promising flashes of quality by Ekitike, let’s hope that continues.
