I just saw the highlights of the West Ham v Chelsea game, Chelsea have built quite a team for this season. A lot of top South American talents, they will be fun to watch.

The thing is, here on Dutch tv we don’t see every Premiership match, so when a big team like Chelsea buy the likes of Joao Pedro and Estevao that’s the first time we get to see these players.

These days I don’t really follow one team anymore, I just enjoy ‘the beautiful game’. I thought it was a shame Liverpool didn’t win the Champions League last year, but PSG were so good in the press and the tackle that no other European team got close.

Indeed.

Actually, I'm not sure that West Ham shouldn't have retained Moyes.
As I have said many times that would have been my preference. But that ship has sailed.

Instead I think we shouldn’t judge Potter after two games. Especially when he had to sell one of the few outstanding players from last year (and needs to sell again before we can spend apparently).

We were beaten by a very motivated Sunderland side and a Billion pound squad from Chelsea.

I think we need a few more games before we write the guy off.

I'm in complete agreement with you.

Actually, one of the things I deeply dislike about the current Premier League is this tendency to seek out managerial sacrificial offerings - a football equivalent of the Wicker Man - so early in the season, and entirely without cause.

Elsewhere, at half-time, (a smarting) Spurs lead Manchester City by two goals to nil.

Wow.

Spurs, playing away, inflict a (deserved) two nil defeat on Manchester City, and come away, claiming all three points, and - for however long it lasts - are currently (if somewhat unexpectedly) top of the table.

Frank has a good record against Man City, so this result is actually not really a surprise.

I think the (recent) historical fear of Man City remains, but Pep has yet to turn things around. I doubt they’ll be as bad as last season, but the other top teams have all improved on paper.

This should be a more open championship this season. There is pretty heavy pressure on Liverpool to try and repeat, especially given the summer shopping spree. But IMO this is going to be a much harder campaign for the Reds than last season for a lot of reasons.

And the Owls have grabbed a late-ish equalizer against Wrexham….passing it into the net after some good possession.

Oof, and McNeill flubs a great 1v1 chance to win it at the death for Wednesday. So close to a compete comeback. Points shared and Wrexham remain winless.
