Whatever you decide on doing, I'd still leave feedback stating all the problems with the machine.
If the seller makes it right then I would not dock them anymore than one star.

My 'book is in, waiting for it to warm up before I fire it up. So far:
Latch button is worn.
Kensington slot is trashed.
Dent near the power jack.
Overall exterior condition is good.
Fired it up, two surprises, SD and Microsoft Office.

Sounds like an ex-corporate disposal. My best was a PB that had Office, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, QuarkXpress Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite plus the prior OS9 versions and a ton of other stuff all licensed. It was such a motley mess of a collection that I wondered what they did at the office.
Tbh, it is something of a surprise when MS Office is not installed, whether legit or not.
The seller mentioned MS Office in the listing. I'm sure they installed it after performing a clean OS X install.
Seller agreed to my partial refund of $12 and has refunded that amount. The reasoning was to help cover the cost of a new battery. I will be keeping the PowerBook.
I just got mine. The bad news is three of the four corners are bowed a bit. The battery is shot too. The power adapter is pretty worn.
The good news is the only part that has a lot of wear is the battery. Also, I paid for the 1.33 with 512MB RAM for $39. I checked System Profiler and its a 1.5 with 1.25GB of RAM!
It's still warming up. Will take pictures if anyone still cares.![]()

It's from a good seller, who I have purchased from in the past. There is also a 3-year 'warranty' on the product. As for RAM, I am tempted, but I should just do that later on. Anyway, I am pretty much satisfied now; I suppose everything for me has been resolved--I wish I could be seeing the rest of the incoming PowerBooks, and help others resolve their potential concerns, but I have been pressed to take a break. I suppose I'll see you all in early June!Bye everyone.
I bet you will be back before then. It is hard to leave MacRumors.
So, I'll be keeping the laptop and will be purchasing a battery for it. TBH, I am okay with purchasing a cheap battery, so I have decided on this one:

well, mine just showed up and won't power up at all. no chime, just nothing. even tried a spare adapter, same thing.
Bummer, does the charger plug light up?
nope. and i know that the charger light does work on my spare charger.
So when my 1gb stick comes in, will I see any difference in performance when using Safari? The machine came with 768mb and I guess this will make it 1.25gb.

I went from 512mb to 1.25gb and while I use Ten4Fox I did notice a big difference.
It was nice of them to acknowledge these issues as being relatively severe, but it would have been nice if they had offered a partial refund of maybe $10. I now need to decide whether to keep it or return it.
Try pulling the battery, holding in the power button for 10 seconds, and reinstalling it.
