Doesn't help much if your hardware incorrectly reports the battery stats. My percentage jumps all over the place for no apparent reason. I've had the Macbook shut down at 40%.

(Off-topic, but, eh, just trying to help...) You've probably tried this before, but still, I recommend calibrating your battery. Unless you've already done this, it would be pretty useful for you.

These are my Current 4 Favorite Mac Apps and One that I don't ever want to go without again. Post your best four.

1. Quicksilver - I can't use my Mac without this Application anymore http://www.blacktree.com/

2. Teleport - This application allows me to control both my Macs from one keyboard. http://abyssoft.com/software/teleport/

3. Rapidostart This Application gives me access to an onscreen dock and when you use a two button mouse you can use one of the buttons to control it. I actually use the Logitech four button trackball it is awesome http://www.app4mac.com/action_freewares.lasso?-session=WEBS:4750023E076642A7C4JjO2D74FA0

4. Candybar This is a great application for customizing your dock and icons on your computer http://www.panic.com/candybar/

Now of course I have many more Applications that I use and like but these are some of the top ones, post your top four applications.

quicksilver? that site, i cant make any sense of it....what does this do?

Awaken
Without this I wouldn't get up in the morning...

Caffeine
Because sometimes I actually want the screen to go black when I don't use the computer...

Little Snitch
Because this way I can always check which apps are accessing the internet and what they are looking for...

iStat Menu
I no longer need to go into Dashboard to check CPU og RAM status, also I can always see the connection speed of my AirPort...

1. Aperture, for light photo editing and powerful library managing.
2. Final Cut, for all my short films I make.
3. Terminal, for that delicious command line interface.
4. Quicksilver, so I don't have to use the dock or the finder or many other apps I don't like to open.

Intaglio.
Skype.
Compost.
Office (not absolute best by a long shot, but I can't live without it).

Close behind are Keynote, Ape plasmid editor, 4peaks.

Um...I have two lists. One is Mac only apps, the other is Mac + other platforms since those are technically my most important apps.

Sorry for confusing this

Mac only list:

-XCode
-Pixelmator
-Handbrake
-Aperture

Other list:
-Maya
-Photoshop
-ZBrush
-Unity3D
-Corel Painter (sorry! I had to include it even though its more than 4)

Apple:
1. Safari
2. iTunes
3. iPhoto

Non-Apple
1. Delicious Library
2. Net News Wire (although after installing an RSS reader on my iPad I haven't started this program in ages)
3. Skype

Evernote - all my meeting and call notes go into this for reference
Omnifocus - for GTD
1Password - for, um, passwords
Crashplan - for remote backup

Oh, I forgot Alfred, which is so embedded in my Mac usage that I forgot to mention it.

Alfred - Spotlight but better.

BetterTouchTool - Custom gestures for many different actions.

Caffeine - Stop annoying auto-dim.

QuickBoot - Choose an OS to boot to. Don't have to sit around and hold down option.

Well it's been 4 years since I last posted in this thread, so my list has changed:

1. iTunes
2. Aperture
3. 1Password
4. Google Chrome
