now you mentioned it, I just realized this thing gives me no way of transferring the photos from my MB to it!!! :O
 
Thanks for the test - looks fine on my 4Gig iPhone (and I knew it would - the original iPhone screens are just fine).


I understand the new 8Gig iPhone screens are starting to exhibit the problems as well... thanks, Steve...
 
dude this looks horrible. And I really don't want to have to wait 2weeks for a new one by returning it to best buy. It will be forever til they have them in stock. Other than the screen being distorted I love this thing.

In the main device screen in iTunes, you can set it to sync photos from iPhoto. This can be done even with manual media management still enabled (for music & video). However, I have yet to find a way to manually transfer photos without going through the sync option.
 
Wow! This really IS the best way! Head-on, I got the negative. The "normal" 10-15 degree tilt doesn't work; if I tilt more, it's better - but by then, the blue cast has come over the screen. Tilt the upper-left corner away, and it comes into clear view.

It's bad. It's going back. Got a date with the Genius Bar, and they already have another set aside. I may demand that they demo on this pic so I'm satisfied.
 
I thought my 8gig was good, then I bought a 16, loaded AVP movie trailers and the movie.

If you think you got a bad one, watch the fight when he is in invisable or stealth mode. Then gets sacked by the Alien from the rear. My bad sceen had a real problem seeing that tail coming. The week 38' models see it coming real clear.

Now I got two good ones.
 
I bought an iPod Touch almost 2 weeks ago and THOUGHT it was fine until I bought an iPhone a few days ago (which I received today) and as you can see despite my rubbish photos the iphone screen is MUCH better! I will be returning my iPod Touch for a new one tomorrow!

Looks like I am the only one with a good week 37 ipod touch...

I can see the hands, face, letters on the top...looks good... :)

If you are trying to convince someone at Apple that your screen is defective, you may want to try this test:

I saw this link posted at another site. If your screen is good, the block furthest to the left (marked "00") will be solid black. If your screen has the inverted black problem, then the block marked "00" will actually be lighter than the block marked "10" (the block marked "10" will appear to be the solid black color that the "00" block should be). I recently purchased a 4gb Iphone that had the inverted black problem (it was a week 32, for whatever that is worth).
