i can see that. esp if Jaba is pitching. and why does Jaba hate Youk so much? no one seems to know where his hostility towards him came from.

Dude, his batting stance is enough to piss anybody off. Just looking at him angers me..... :) j/k (Aaron Rowand's stance is most annoying though, Youk pushes a strong #2)

haha im sorry. umm....DODGERS SUCK!!

and here is a video of Tony Batista. he's in Japan now i guess. probably becuase his stance was so dumb:p

Don't hate cause we took your Manny away. Or actually, he chose to come to us  Oh well, he's having a slow start this year anyway. Jason Bay is still hot player though, but still not a Manny!

I don't understand why the Red Sox were so pissed off, they hit us all the time, once we hit back they get all defensive.

Yeah, and I hate when a team retaliates, it's automatic suspensions all around, players, mgrs, ball boys etc... It's the game, you can't help it. Protect your players yo!

Ellsbury better get brushed back next time we see him.;) I want him to be eating dirt.

Your pitchers can't even put the ball over the plate.. how do you expect them to spot it just inside to back a guy off?

Youk ran over Joba's teddy bear with a lawnmower.

At this point in their careers, Jason Bay is better than Manny.

Theres a difference between just hitting a guy and throwing twice in a row at his head.

im not big into the whole retaliation thing. i just like the level of play that the rivalry makes. i understand that it is part of the game and im all for a good fight now and then but i just think it gets too dangerous sometimes.

They really should just rotate the AL and NL rules year to year for the World Series instead of just playing according to the home team's rules.

You mean like they did between 1976 and 1986? Should they do the same thing for the entire inter-league month as well?

Not really taken away, more like taken off their hands. The Sox were done with Manny being Manny... you will soon learn what that really means: not running out grounders where a bad throw pulls the first baseman off the bag... but since Manny is still only three steps from home (or half way to the dugout), plenty of time to tag the base; standing at the plate admiring 400' doubles off the wall that turn into singles just beating the outfielder's throw to first; having a sore knee (even he can't remember which it is when asked) and needing a day off whenever facing a dominating pitcher. Not to mention his A+ fielding ability. Jason Bay is a breath of fresh air. Plays hard with enough power to replace Kevin Youkilis' bat (since Youk's bat is now replacing Manny's) and solid defense. I just hope that when he cashes in next year it is still with the Red Sox.

my favorite was when Manny dove in front of Johnny Damon's throw.

Sure, put it back to how it was between 76-86. Sounds good to me.

No, they shouldn't do it for interleague play. I don't like interleague play- it still doesn't seem right after all these years.

Maybe they should introduce a HR hitting contest to decide tie games at the end of 9 innings a la the shootout in hockey. The fans would love it.

"The three arguments against the DH are: Tradition opposes it, logic forbids it, and it is anti-intellectual because it diminishes strategy. All three arguments fail." - Men at Work, George F. Will

If you have not read it, it is well worth it if you are an avid baseball fan.

fantastic book. and i agree every baseball fan should read it.

OK, there were some good moments, too! Jerry Remy just about died of laughter when he did that!

Then again, Damon's arm is so weak that Manny probably thought he could help.

haha yea Manny did have some good years here. but you are right he was becoming a nuisance.

and Damon what a joke his "arm" was. i remember he made a throw from left center and barely made the infield. why can he learn to throw properly. i dont get it.

Well, I finally was able to watch that vid as I'm now at home. I can't view that stuff at work. But yeah, that's a pretty annoying batting stance. I have to go with Aaron Rowand as the most annoying batting stance in the history of the game though!

All in all, I do love baseball. I love the game, regardless of league. I guess, on the AL side of things for the DH are obviously not having your pitcher hit. Protecting your pitcher from hitting and either getting beaned. If they do get a hit, they have to run the bases and that's possibly an injury waiting to happen. Taking the pitcher out of his game and now having to focus on his at bat and all the possible base running scenarios you may be faced with if and when you get a hit when he should be focusing on the next inning instead. I'm sure there are more...

Amen. Manny is an amazing player when he wants to be. In the end, he was a poisonous influence that had to go.

Jason Bay is everything Manny is not while still being a great player.

How long has Bay been in the league, can you really base his talent on just a few seasons. Manny is one of the best hitters the game has ever seen. Ortiz sure misses Manny.
