The AL vs NL

How long has Bay been in the league, can you really base his talent on just a few seasons. Manny is one of the best hitters the game has ever seen. Ortiz sure misses Manny.

Right now Bay is doing well so we love him. if he starts to suck then we will hate him. you know how it is being a Yankees fan.;)

and Ortiz is hurt no one could help him right now. that wrist injury he has has really affected him. the league is just pounding him high and in and he cant get around in it like he used to.

Speaking of pounding, great game you guys played last night.:D

Is Penny his name or about how much he is worth.

I'm an A's fan, so I follow the AL, so I am more familiar with the players and the strategy, so I gotta go with the AL. As much as I can appreciate the extra strategy having the pitcher hit brings to the game, I like that there are differences between the two leagues. Why should they be exactly the same. If they were, we couldn't have arguments about the DH :p

Best argument for the DH (as a fellow A's fan - woot!): Jack Cust. He gets on base (though he strikes out a fair amount of time). He has 30 HR power. And he absolutely sucks in the field.

what ever happened to the regular mlb season topic?

Bay is ranked 67th all time in career OPS, and 27th out of all active players. I'd say he's pretty good.

I'm not disputing the fact that Manny is one of the best hitters the game has ever seen, because he definitely is. But at this point in their careers (Manny is 37, Bay is 30), Bay is the more valuable and better player.

I think Ortiz is just starting to break down, or his wrist isn't fully healed. He definitely isn't the Ortiz of 2-3 years ago.

It is to early to say Bay is a hall of famer, at this stage in his career he might be better but long term who knows.
