Damned, had my Sport since launch and that one was is still just as New. Got a SS two days ago and there is a little (hair) scratch on the left side. Did not bump my watch or anything, i can only see it in the sunlight but it's annoying me

Thanks! I guess I need to go to Walmart now. :D

There is a Walmart Superstore nearby according to Google Maps.
Do they sell it?

Scratches on a watch tell the story of a good companion.

Believe me, the first scratch on my Apple Watch was a lot less heartbreaking than the first one on my Sub.

I'm trying to keep the L shaped scratch on my top right out of my mind. I keep saying it adds character but I still want it new. I'll live :)

Did you just polish the area with the scratch, or did you polish that whole side? I've had a few scratches on my watch, but I finally got a really noticeable one on the same side (and it's annoying me to death.) I'm wondering if I polish just over the scratch, will you be able to tell that I didn't polish the rest of that side?

Hey sorry didn't see this sooner. Like someone else said, I just polished the scratch out. Looked perfect in seconds. Just need a little dab of the polish.

This is the easiest watch finish to fix I've ever owned, most of my Swiss watches are much more intricate and combine brushed and polished surfaces. I picked up a little scuff on my stainless link bracelet and it was literally a 5 second fix with one swipe of grey Scotchbrite. The one real ding I picked up on the case took all of 30 seconds to completely disappear with a clean cotton patch and a tiny dab of Flitz.

Seriously, most durable and easiest to fix of any watch I have owned.

Stainless steel scratch?

Hi Guys,

So in past Apple products that have been "stainless steel" with that mirror finish, it's always been a scratch magnet. iPod classic, ipod Touch 2 etc. Do we think this 316L will make a difference? Any experts here?

scratches just as quick and just as easy

Yes the SS scratches very easily, but if that picky its EASILY polished out as well. No issues!

I hit my watch pretty hard yesterday, right on the edge of a tempered glass counter. It not only scratched but actually gouged the case, right below the screen. I guess I got lucky there - if it had been the screen that got hit, it may have chipped or shattered.

Anyway, I masked the screen with a piece of cellophane tape when I got home and then sanded the scratches down with 800, 1500, and finally 2000 grit sandpaper. I then cut a few Q-Tips in half, put a little Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish on the tips, and fitted them in a battery powered dremel I have, using them to buff the casing out. The end result was pretty damn good! I'm attaching before and after shots.

Wow now that’s a good argument for the plain SS
