We still have 13 minutes until the time they stated. Hopefully there is more to it then The Beatles. They wouldn't give up their whole front page for just them, right?

You mean they wouldn't give up their front page for 16 hours to get tons of free publicity from major news organizations and dozens of blogs? Sure they would.

I give it a 'Meh' Over a year late ?

Funny the Beatle's box set has a release date of September 9, 2009 on iTunes Store.

I know a lot of you are thinking: "What I waited 24hrs for THIS!"

Wether you like the beatles or not, this is a HUGE milestone for Apple. They have been in discussion with Beatles copyright holders for years. I think you will start to see more iTunes resistants artist jump on the bandwagon.

I will be a little disappointed if this is the only announcement. But on the bright side a new generation of listeners will be exposed to "The Beatles" incredible catalog of music.

So a million people d/l the box set. That's $150m only a third of what Call of Duty: Black Ops made in 24 hrs.

Nice of them to sell it for 5$ less than Amazon sells you a hard copy of last year's release of The Beatles Master collection. Truely a deal of epic proportions.

Wow. This is a day I will never forget.

Really.

Ever.

No! Didn't you see Apple's homepage? It's "Tomorrow"!, and without a quantified date, that's Apples NEW homepage ad nauseum, ad infinity! :D

Just went to iTunes played a Beatles track... When does the 90 seconds preview begin because those puppies are still the disgustingly short 30 seconds?

Me too, I am disappointed... but hey! Congrats Apple on this veery simple and no cost campaign... Everyone knows that Beatles are (were) missing on the iTunes.. how to change that very well known "con" cheap and easy? just change the splash screen for one day? We were all out there... we know that there are keynotes for everything important.. yet we hoped them to bring something very new just with a website campaign.... we are too spoiled...

People that are hoping for another announcement - tough luck.

The homepage will update in around 5 minutes with

"The band that changed everything...now on iTunes"

with a download link to iTunes and a slideshow of Beatles pictures.

Still a worthwhile announcement - gives iTunes a massive advantage over other digital music stores esp for the casual Beatles fan who doesnt already own their collection.

Apart from using the words "That you will never forget"?

"Tomorrow's just another day." is what they imply you will never forget, referring to song lyrics. The second sentence, "That you'll never forget", refers to the first.

Look on the brightside. If Apple does something like this again, we can be sure it won't be The Beatles.

like I said.....

YAWN....... Who cares, what a waste of time...

Oh I can't wait to buy my 5 version of the white album....

All these idiots trying to down the whole thread. Why do you care so much? If Apple thinks it's a big deal then that's on them. If it doesn't fancy you then don't come here and post all your negative energy, it's not needed. If it's not for you then post somewhere else.

£11 an album in the uk. !!!!
What a joke. !!

People will pay that. The CDs typically cost more than that, at least in high street music shops. And actually, the full boxset for £125 isn'd bad value at all, especially with the iTunes LP bonus content. I may actually consider it.

why is everyone going Mad apple said 3pm Uk time its not yet 3pm. at least let them announce the damn thing before rip them, they might well surprise you like they have done many times before :apple:

I'm hoping for 4.2 to be released. Not exactly iTunes related, but I can hope. There was after all a rumour it would be released today...
