No, anyone who thinks there is depth in the Beatles output is musically ignorant. I truly am sorry for you.
Now, as a business, the Beatles are very interesting to study and that is really how they impacted society.
But candidly, I don't think there is a single innovation they produced. Not one. And they really were very poor musicians their entire careers, technically and creatively.
KnightWRX and so many others here posting roughly the same said:Apple has taught all of us a very good lesson in hype and disappointment today. A day to remember indeed.
Raise your hand if you didn't know that this thread would turn into a debate whether The Beatles are good or not.
You're calling me ignorant?!?!... Just who do you think you are??
I'm not even what I'd consider a real Beatles fan but as a guitar player for more than 10 years I can appreciate the depth of the Beatles' musical genius and creativity. You may want to reconsider who is musically ignorant.
Sometimes it might be fine to just sit back and accept something without being a critic of it. This is not a discussion on who likes the Beatles. The title is just "The Beatles Appear in iTunes Store" and we have a full scale politcal debate.
I'm not in love with the Beatles but I like them enough to buy their music for my collection.
Next please.. anything more important to fight or complain about?
Just imagine back in the 60's - who would have thought we would be able to buy every song by the Beatles with one click on a thing called a mouse using a thing called the Internet so we can listen to the music using a thing called an iPod or iPhone over 40 years later. It's amazing!

I think it's great the Beatles are finally on iTunes.
This achievement is clearly a milestone for Steve Jobs.
Can't imagine why people are so upset over this announcement or how it was delivered.
And in the end... Who cares, it's just a press release.
Lossless music downloads would have been a day to remember.
This? This is bull$h!t, is what it is.
As posted by aprofetto8 before, this sums up the last 2 days perfectly:

Because those melody lines, chord progressions and timing were oh so exceptional? C'mon. It's ok to like bubblegum (I have my own moments) but let's not confuse it with sophisticated, adult expression!
I've heard enough to know it's not even close to my style of music, so I won't waste my time. Even if they do happen to have one or two lyrical gems, the underlying music still doesn't appeal to me. I need more than love, sorry.
You Beatles fan should just learn to let it be.
Someone who knows and appreciates the difference between Wonderbread and whole grain.
It's very clear that you're not that familiar with their music.
