Beautiful? Hardly. Looks like an HTC. If I wanted an HTC, I'd go buy one. Don't know what's up with people's obsession with a bigger iPhone. If they do make one with a bigger screen, people will complain it's too big or not big enough. Phones should not be nearing small tablet sizes. Give it a rest.

And for the reasons above, Apple should make 2 sizes in an iPhone. Let the customer decide according to their needs which size is appropriate. Everybodys happy, customer has a choice and Apple wins.

There's a difference between 4.8'' and 7''

As much as I love apple, they're a bit of a control freak; so you must be kidding when you talk about "choice."

Don't you think that Sir Jony Ive has a little more up his sleeve than shrinking down an iPad Mini?

J. Ive is highly capable, but Apple has become incredibly stodgy & conservative.

As a true world class designer if allowed to he'd create a truly fresh, relevant, brilliant new iPhone. Yet the conservatives here argue what's wrong with the current style.

It's evident Apple's eager to do some profit taking this year with a warmed over iPhone 5S, while grabbing headlines via the iWatch obsession.

Of course there is, Sherlock. That's why I said NEARING tablet sizes. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2, for example, is 5.5 inches. Another 1.5 inches and you're already at the 7" tablet size.

Nearing tablet screen size would be like at 6''.

Going to 4.8'' is not nearing tablet screen size. Every other smartphone has something bigger than 4''.

I guess you could say there is no smartphone market because 4.2'' to 4.8'' is nearing a tablet size.

That looks nice, maybe then the iphone won't feel like a kids toy and more like a real phone

Looks so nice! I like its stylish design. But it looks like the new released htc one, anyone agree with me?

it's amazing what an edge to edge screen can do. I think the 5S will be the usual upgrade, but the 6 will hopefully bring something "radically" different.

Agreed. I feel bad for those on the "S" cycle upgrade!

I'm sure the person who designed the mock-ups had some sort of inspiration. :p

although the 4s is still a really good phone, better design than the 5 IMO, so they will be ok to skip the 5s and wait for the 6.

iono man.... as much as i want a bigger screen phone .. one hand typing is really important to how i use my phone

I had android before and it just didn't feel great ... but theres no such a thing as a perfect phone :(

I think 4.3 inch is probably the maximum a phone can be for 1 hand typing.

iPhone 4S > Samsung Galaxy S3 > iPhone 4S

Having traded my iPhone 4S for a 4.8 inch Samsung Galaxy S3, I had the Samsung for three months before I just couldn't get on with it any longer and went back to the iPhone 4S. The Galaxy was just too big to handle each day. When you want to text, you have to use two hands to control it properly or use one hand and stretch and get close to dropping the phone. After trying and trying, I went back to the 4S and am so happy I did. It's nice to have a "normal" sized phone again!

I hate threads like this because I know the next iPhone will never look anything like the epic mockups we see :(

You know what? There was a time when I hated all mockups, mainly because they were unimaginative, and never looked better than what Apple produced.

Now, I have to say that the mockups rock . . . . and the iPhone will just stay the same.

If the iPhone 5S and/or 6 looked just as good as those mockups with a 5" screen and a seriously overhauled OS that made doing things easier then I'd make that switch.
