That was the one thing I actually liked about my BB Storm. Being able to click the screen as a giant home button isn't all that bad an idea, actually.

I'm sure Apple could implement it better than BlackBerry anyways :p

Not that that'd be a hard thing to do. :p

The Storm was so bad, it almost scared me away from smartphones entirely. There was a point before I got my iPhone that I was just thinking about getting a cheap netbook for all my on the go internet needs. It was that bad.

When they first introduced it I thought it was the best phone on the market. Then I used it...

Just looking at Engadget's review of the BB Storm, this made me laugh:

"The Storm is a striking device. From the second you lay eyes on it, it's clear that a lot of time and care went into crafting this phone. The majority of the front panel is display, a large 3.25-inch (480 x 360) touchscreen."

Nowadays, you'd be ridiculed for a 3.25" screen.

Eh, it had some nice things about it. Blackberry Email was as nice as they say, and...uh...

Yeah. It was about the worst 300 bucks I've spent in my entire life. For me, the honeymoon lasted up to the point the phone started freezing whenever I'd get a call. Then I'd have to pop the battery, then wait a good 5-10 minutes for it to reboot before I could anything with it.

I'm surprised I still have the thing. I mean I swore I'd bust it with a sledgehammer the moment my then new iPhone came in the mail. But...eh. Guess I keep it around as a subconscious reminder that I should always, always do some research before buying something.

Back in the day, that was HUGE.

Im buying that the day it becomes available. Not waiting for Apple to make a larger iphone. Didnt buy into the iPhone 4S-S, either. Or the iPhone 4S-S2 that will more than likely be next with the "amazing" camera and more drive space.

HTC and Blackberry (sheesh) have kinda stolen Apples "larger aluminum iPhone" look. That HTC is REALLLY nice looking. Especially, If there is a quality feel to the aluminum design.

The HTC size wise and shape, is EXACTLY what I want in a phone, I really like my friends HTC 1X, and NO, I dont think its too big to put in my back pants pocket, because I dont put my phones in my back pants pocket (Im not a 14 year old girl).
HTC licensed it from Apple, so they didn't steal anything...

People pointing to the HTC forget one thing:

Edge-to-edge display. That HTC has large bezels, yo.

Can't wait for phones to look like that, be it iPhone or Android.

Common Apple, just give the Mini iPad Cellular Phone capabilities...!

Would you really use a 7.9-inch phone in public?

I read the review, that was great! I love reading old reviews... I recently read the original iPhone review, it's amazing how we don't even second-guess the touch-screen now.

Honestly, this (and the OS) looks better than anything we can expect from Apple in a larger phone:

Sadly enough, I kinda agree with you. I have owned and loved every iPhone/iPad model and for the first time I feel like iOS and even the iPhone is somewhat falling behind. I think Apple obsessing over the idea that you have to be able to operate your phone with one hand is such an arbitrary restriction that most people apparently don't care about when you look at the most popular android phones. When I saw this HTC phone I had a moment of "oh man, if only the next iPhone would look like this". Don't get me wrong I love the look of my iPhone 5, I just wish it had AT LEAST a 4.5" screen. Had the iPhone 5 come out with a 4.5" screen I would say game over android. Then that would have opened up the opportunity to completely overhaul the iOS for the iPhone 5s/6.

I am also getting really tired of these half-refreshes every year in the 'S' models. I wish Apple would forget the iPhone 5s and just updated the actual phone each year.

A larger iPhone would certainly be a good start, but id make a comeback if iOS could get a revamp

The person who created these images said this phone would use a clickable screen, to act as the home-button. Personally, I think that's a terrible idea. Think Blackberry Storm

Instead, make the gesture area below the screen clickable. You can maybe swipe to the left to activate notification centre, and swipe to the right to dismiss it again.

They can maybe play more with the gestures, like activating the multitasking tray instead of NC, or stuff like that. But they shouldn't use too many or it'll be like ubuntu phone OS, and iOS users don't want a learning curve.

And click the area to go home, just like the previous iPhones. That'd be a welcome innovation :)

At least you're making it easier for Apple to impress you, seeing that you've set low expectations.

As someone who's tried both iOS and Android, I can say I prefer iOS, simply because it's familiar and easy to use with my MacBook and iPad Mini. However, I do feel like it's starting to fall behind. Friends of mine who have had the iPhone since the 3G days are getting Galaxy S3's and HTC's. I just hope iOS 7 brings and overhaul because Apple seems to be starting to slip a bit. People don't want a faster processor of a better camera, they want more features.

I think the iPhone 5 is the perfect size. Any bigger and it won't fit in my suit breast front jacket pocket, which is where I carry the phone all day.

I'm into the smaller is better group, so I'm happy they didn't make the iPhone as big as some of the other large smart phones. That's what the ipad mini is for, in my book

imagine playing fifa and youre trying to sprint forward and control the joystick right, you tend to apply pressure on the screen as you try to maneuver the player. i would be SO annoyed if it accidentally closes the app at that point

I agree. These S upgrade models are a bore. Hardly anyone cares about a faster processer or a better camera. I would think for the majority of users, the current processor is fast enough. The S models were only great back when you had to wait around for a few seconds while your phone caught up. I havent had to do this at all with my 4S ever......

and it's not like Apple doesn't have the $$$ to do a full update each year like other manufaturers do. Maybe that is what they should start investing their $120 billion in cash reserves...actually updating their products and iOS.
