You know why?

Apple never thought there would be enough morons out there that would pay $900 for an electronic device to then proceed and bend it with their hands.

But hey we all descend from monkeys right?....some evolved, others.....didn't!

yea some monkeys pick things up and instinctively play with them. Other just drool and gaze at them ;)

I can bend it possibly even break it if I continue exerting force on it.

Can I blame BIC for it....possibly

Can BIC take the blame for my bending and breaking of this pen. Doubt it! The pen was never designed and intended for bending with my hands.....

OK, maybe that was a little mean.

But still...
...Scientific method...

no. beaten down with stupidity :D

I didn't think you were mean. My skin is thicker than that. Ive been on the internet a long time :)

Consumer reports are just a bunch of guys who refuse to see the obvious. They get hung up on complexity. The simple eluded them. That being. Pick the thing up with your hands and bend it at the weak point. Oh no no nothing so crass we need elaborate machinery that our superior minds have developed. We don't use something so common as our hands. What are you apes or some thing. Riff raff with their crazy idea cause they can't afford expensive shiney test equipment like ours. Go away peasents with your foolish uneducated thinking. Leave this to our highly evolved minds.

And funny (not haha) thing is if someone at Apple had just picked the thing up and tried to break it they would have discovered it earlier.

To add to the conversantion. Maybe some will find this interesting. Whilst others can use it to argue further.

YouTube: video

That was a good video. Some very legitimate points.

FWIW I don't think Unbox Therapy faked the video, but I do think that it was a lot more force than the average iPhone would see. So yeah, it will bend at the weak point, but with a fair amount of care (and probably a case) the risk is minimal.

Worst case scenario if it does bend, then take it into an Apple store and have it replaced.

I'm skimming so bear with me.

What is this example illustrating?

If you let go of that pen it goes back to being straight again. Something the iPhone doesn't have a lot of tolerance for.

Unless that was your point, like I said I skimmed a bit.

Comparing plastic with metal?

What?

My point is a pen is design to be held in your hand and its function to help you write on paper. A pen isn't designed to be bent and snapped with your hands.

A phone is designed to be held in your hand and its function to help you communicate. A phone isn't designed to be bent and snapped with your hands.

People that fail to understand this have a huge problem!

ah I see your confusion. You are confusing testing with ****ing around. People are testing the iPhone with their hands, not ****ing around like you are with a pen.

Nope.

People are destroying iPhones with their hands just like animals would with objects they don't understand their intended use.

now they are. In the beginning they were testing. Well some are still testing as they now know the weak spot they can bend with less force but I guess we'll just wait for the machine test so you can be satisfied.

here you go this is why iPhones are bending

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jvchamary/2014/09/30/iphone-6-bendgate-science/

Like spoon bending, there are probably many ways that iPhones are being bent. Uri Geller recently told MarketWatch that there were two possible explanations for why the iPhone 6 is bending.

“Either the phone is so seriously thin and flimsy that it is bendable with mere physical force, which I cannot believe given the extensive tests Apple would have done,” said Geller. “Or – and this is far more plausible – somehow the energy and excitement of the 10 million people who purchased iPhones has awakened their mind powers and caused the phones to bend.”

Time for another scientific test.

If it takes 70-90lbs to deform an iPhone 6 or 6 plus, how could it possibly be comfortable to sit in any position with that much force being exerted on your pockets? To me it would feel like having a 70lb weight in my pocket. I don't doubt that if you want, you can bend a phone, especially one as long and thin as the 6 Plus. But in everyday use . . . ?

FWIW I have a nice protective case on my iPhone 6 Plus with no issues so far - it rides in my front pocket of all my jeans, khakis and shorts.

The Bendguy Cheated You Again.

Reports of bent iphone from 'regular' users now trickling in.

Note, this is not from intentional damage, just using it the same way as their old phones

Trickling in?

LOL

These photos are the same as the ones on that website where some dude is counting the bent phones.

Nothing new.

Still no proof on how these phones were bent.

Mine is in my front pocket right now as I type this on my iPad.

No bend :)

----------

What I find odd is all these phones with front pocket bends....one of them says he had it in his pocket for 10 mins but NO ONE has yet to produce a video where this is shown happening.

Very strange indeed since that would surely beat the 40 million views Lewis had on his video!
