if the back casing is metallic or matte or anything, as long as it won't easily scratch and i can throw a screen protector on there i'll be a happy camper :)
 
There needs to be more margin on the top and bottom like the current iPhone. Imagine holding the iPhone horizontally without a space for your thumbs.
 
Damn...that phone is amazing!

Those guys at Apple should look at this and try to make it a reality. I'll pay a nice price for this! :eek:

Yes, it looks like a single rectangular button from the top but there's no reason that they couldn't have 3 receptors (or whatever they're called) underneath the button (left, center and middle).
 
I like it, yes sir! best mockup ever, just the square button thing... couldn't they just add another button on the side to work as "home" button? that way the front would be really clean and cool!

Sure there is, Apple follows the the KISS method.

Why complicate such a small area?
 
The home button wouldn't be like that... the current 'shape' in the home button is the shape of the icons. If apple did that home button, they would change all icon shapes
 
Looks good. I hope the rumor of the apple logo lighting up for a flash is true. Doubtful, but it would be awesome.
 
Am i being thick in thinking that the Home button, like the sleep/wake button will always be a physical microswitch based button rather than touch...

My reason is that the reset mechanism might need to rely on a physical combo and would a touch button be software based and vulnerable to none OS responsiveness?

Other than that, i adore that concept ... looks more grown up and mature device

Weirdly, I never hold my iPod touch with my thumbs across the margin space. Feels too cramped. I wrap my index finger and thumb around the side of the device in a C shape (thumb supporting the base, finger running up and around the top corner, with the rest of my fingers forming a backstop).

This design would work fine for me, I suppose.
 
This is the first time I've experienced a depressing feeling knowing that an upcoming apple product won't be nearly as impressive as a mockup.


If you're listening Apple, make sure you hire the guy who did this.

i was in love, ready to buy it, only to have apple uglify the gorgeous iphone 1G with plastic. PLEASE APPLE! don't do it again!

EDIT: Oh and the dare is fugly as he11. And besides the touchscreen and button, is really not that comparable to the mockup (you cant really include screens and home buttons when comparing touchscreen phones. otherwise they'd all be the same thing"
