Pfft, they shut down the big B&Q in Oldham. I mean there's a new one on the other side of town.

I haven't seen much in the way of advertising yet. Any TV ads yet?

A certain Supermarket near me, not mentioning any names tes *cough* co, had it on sale on Wednesday, 8 people from my friends list are online and playing it, it was sold out when i got there ( not very happy, oh well, only a few more days to go.

IGN gave it a 9.5

Nice to know in co-op it takes under 5 hours to beat :p Multiplayer sounds awesome though

it's an odd review, aside from the multiplayer he doesn't sound all that in awe of it but still gives it 9.5/10's on most categories

Mr. Joystiq is saying it has the best bits and disposes of the worst bits from Halo 1 and 2 (there was a worst bit in Halo 1?).

Late edit after much thought: The Library *shudders*

I equate the first Halo to listening to an enjoyable record with friends, but it tends to skip way too much during the middle and really isn't anything we've heard before. :)

Average reader is only 8.6, that's not bad.

IGN once again with there scores....95 is a good score but with all the negative the fella mentions in the review I would think 95 to be a bit too much. A whole level that sucks arse and shady AI at times but still a 95.....well this game is all about the multiplayer but the score still shoulda been knock down if the single player wasn't what it suppose to be.(some people don't play online..isn't that the usual excuse)

I'm not knocking Halo 3 guys....just the IGN review....I'ma have to getthis for myself and be the judge.

I'm wondering if we could play this game in 3rd person because in the review they were doing a lot of that.

Bless

Famitsu gives it a 37/40 (stolen from Joystiq).

Worries about the single player and story being as bad as Halo 2 are fading, that's a pretty nifty score!

How was the single player in Halo2 bad? Just because everyone didn't like the ending didn't mean it was a bad game. I loved it. The controls and game play were great. Better than any gamecube or Wii game. Playing super mario sunshine made me sick with the wacko camera controls. Same with Zelda(cartoon game) on the cube.

Joystiq is very anti-microsoft. I get emails(yahoo alerts) every day from them saying that the 360 is done and the Wii is the best thing ever.

Solid. I'm still not hyped at all for this game, though- Halo 2 was really that bad, in my opinion.

I may give it a rent someday, though.

Yeah me too. I was really crazy for that excite truck game and that trauma center game on the Wii. Those were really great games. :D

Halo first impressions

Color me very impressed so far... beautiful game, fights already very challenging (heroic difficulty) on the first level. Perhaps too difficult? *cough* If anybody is up for online co-op, look me up: username Tikum.

Replay with screenshots is my new favorite toy ever.

for the german speaking readers of macrumors: avoid the german languge version at all costs
according to first reports the german voice work is somewhere between "you have to live with it" "with good luck B movie quality" and "insulting to your ears" ...
Halo is _the_ microsoft AAA title and yet they can't spend the money for decent voicework or at least made it possible to choose the english voice instead of the german one

you can watch it here:

I'd like to know what people who loved Halo 1 and despised Halo 2 think of the game so far.

Um... There aren't that many 360's out?

I say it makes 5 million max in a year. That's assuming half of the people with 360's buy Halo 3. Which would be a little bit remarkable.

If you read the threads on places like HUKD, people are trying to buy upwards of 10 copies of the legendary edition to sell on eBay.

They're never going to get all of them obviously but will Microsoft claim them as sales?

My legendary edition supposedly comes tomorrow :D Lucky I'm off work with a slipped disc

Of course Microsoft will claim sales. They don't count aftermarket sales, just the original purchase....

And you should be resting, not playing games.

i've heard that some people are out there who actually bought all 3 version for themselves ...

that said the regular version is 70 euro and the limited 75.....

The most comfortable place is my Aeron, conveniently placed about 6' from my TV and my Mac :D

Apart from that it's agony :(

Halo 3 anyone?

I always disliked the first two Halos because it was over-rated. With all the hype and cool looking ads, I decided to pick it up this morning and give it a try. Its still over-rated. Anyone agree?
