Added voice control improvements to the iPhone "iPhone OS 4.0 has... (wishes which have become reality)" list. It better understands languages other than English (American) and you can ask some new stuff like "What time is it?"

And about that article with the 8 MP: don't count on it, it's just what an anylist thinks (as it says in the article).

Battery Life Improvements

A couple of things makes me think we are going to see some battery life improvements on the next iPhone.

There's the Apple's SOCs which I think have the potential to reduce power consumption.

And then there are some component rumors.
One has the iPhone with a slightly longer case.
The other has an integrated and thinned display module.

These changes could permit a larger battery volume. Combine that with lower power consumption and we might see an iPhone with an improvement in battery life.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3GS: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

I'd like to see teleportation and neural net interface for inputting and a holographic screen display

Not to forget they've got some amazing battery life with the iPad with such a giant screen. There's not enough room in the iPhone to get the size battery of the iPad, but than again: the iPhone has a way smaller screen. Bigger screens need a lot of energy (like 13 inch needs less than 15 inch, even if the 15 inch has a bigger battery).

Or what about the new MacBook Pros? The battery improved really good, even though it has some powerful chips.

That would be nice indeed.

It seems like a lot on the iPhone 4G (hardware) list is also going to be come true if the one Gizmido has is the real deal.

Lol, it seems like apple has been paying attention to this thread.

Just about all of the software wishlist came true with OS4 and all of the hardware wishlist came true with iPhone 4G

That'sMeRight, could you please add this to the wishlist.

I don't understand why the black bars above and below the screen on the iPhone need to be so large. The home button could be made smaller or slimmer. The speakers could be shifted upwards. And overall the screen could be bigger or have more real estate.

Something akin to this...

or this (but less ugly)

In short, there seems to be little good reason why the iPhone screen couldn't have been made bigger/longer (or wider in landscape mode) for this upcoming hardware revision. The phone itself could've been made a mm or two wider if Apple wished to do this while keeping the screen proportions the same.

Bigger screen = less battery life considering it uses almost all the power. Same screen size = noticeably thicker phone which is a stupid move if you've followed cell phone trends over the last decade.

If it decreases the battery life by 2%. Would you really care?

The HD2 offers a bigger screen, a slimmer design and better battery life than the iPhone. If HTC could pull it off, I'm sure Apple could too.

idk if this has been posted yet, but don't you think apple could borrow a move from (although almost dead) the palm pre plus and put a lcd touch sensitive home screen button? It would remove the physical button and allow more space for a screen.

Idk, I think that would be epic and, just like :apple:, beautiful.:D

The top one is what Apple should have come up with, makes there prototype look even uglier!

Nice find, so a 5mp will supposedly hold us over until a 8mp one is due in 2011. It's not all about MP though, I'd rather have a 5mp with great optics compared to a 8mp with crappy optics.

QFT. 5-6 MP is seriously the best option for a phone but the sensor needs to be top-notch. 5 MP with an amazing sensor would blow away a 8 MP with a average sensor.

5 mp with a top lens is indeed better than a 8 mp camera with a bad lens.

with the next gen iphone on the way we might see some new improvments in the os. they could add a radio app but unliky, also a ichat app is unliky they might just integrate it in the phone app. because apple knows they might loose the race for a better phone (even tho they really dont care), the one thing i want is a better google maps app the current maps app sucks and they can definanatly make it better. the screen rotation lock is good in the beta it does not let u lock it in landscape tho. Also they went with a smaller screen, different designe and a 5 megpix camera. while apples competitors are going in the opposit direction bigger and better. im not sure if we got a full teardown of the leaked iphones but we will just have to wait till wwdc. CANT WAIT!:D

Also we all know on a side note that the ipad could of been 10X better but all will be revealed at wwdc 2010
