Wow, simply the best accessory Apple has ever made. You are going to want one and they'll be as scarce as the iPad case so get yourself to an Apple store today before they're all gone.

Perfect mix of hand grip, pocket slide, and weight.

Its descent for what it is, but its nearly impossible to use any 3.5mm jacks other than the apple headphones. Using the i4 with a bumper reminds me of trying to plug headphones into the recessed jack on the original iphone. The ringer / vibrate switch is also difficult to use.

Oh, glad I saw this. I can only use over the ear DJ style headphones, so the bumper case is a no-go for me. What a pain it was getting headphones for the original iPhone.

I wonder if dirt etc will get stuck between the RIM and the glass and cause scratches? Most dirt has silica in it. I know most cases esp rubbery ones that flex a bit caused all kinds of scratches on the 3G chrome.

I had this problem with my 3g. I used an iskin solo fx se on my 3gs and it wasn't as bad. The case was tight and i cleaned it out about every 10 days or so. I'm sure the i4 could easily be scratched by dirt that makes its way in there.

I;m actually heading down to my apple store (Northpoint Mall) to grab a bumper. I went to three different stores (BB, Apple, and Wally-World) and no one would sell me a case yesterday even though I had the phone in hand. I'll be using the bumper and a BestSkinsEver.

Wow, so glad i read this. This has made my decision not to get one easier. I use an adapter for Grado headphones and it's big. It plugs into my 3G with the iSkin Solo fine, so i'll have to keep an eye out for this. Wanted to go caseless but think i want something to grip. I still feel like this is slippery.

Not true. I just got my Dre headphones in there as well as the Monster turbine pro's. Which headphones aren't working for you or are you just making an assumption?

You are being misinformed. The opening for the headphone jack is beveled in such a way that it's wide and shallow. I've got some big plugs in there and they fit no issue.

Also, it is not slippery at all. There is a rubber strip, then a gloss plastic strip, then another rubber strip to the Bumper. So it's very sturdy in your hands yet slides into a pocket without grabbing on. It's like the best of a silicone case and a hard shell. Bit of both. And it completely exposes the back which makes it lighter and more attractive.

I am incredibly wealthy and want everyone to know that through luck and marrying a high-earner they too can have the most expensive version of every Apple product made.

Hey BJ!

Are you using any screen protection for the front and back?
Thanks for the info.

Yeah, except all they had was black. I didn't want a black one.

Yeah same thing at my Apple Store.... I half expected Henry Ford to pop around the corner wearing a Genius shirt, proclaiming "you can have it in any colour, as long as it's black"
(Hopefully car enthusiasts/people over 100 can share in that joke).

There were several hundred bumpers, all black. Apple must have forgotten to order their coloured paints recently, what with the no-white-iPhones saga too.

I went to another phone store around the corner from Apple and picked up the Griffin Reveal for 20% less than the cost of a Bumper, I'm really happy with it.
