My guess is that there was a glitch in pre-production or a manufacturer that couldn't make enough.

It's a great, great case. I think it's my favorite part of the iP4, actually.

Probably the same glitch that kept them from being able to produce the iPad case. I agree with the other poster, it seems strange that they can manage to product hundreds of thousands of a device as complex as an iPhone and iPad- yet can't manage to produce enough of these simple protectors and cases to meet demand.

btw- this was not posted from my honda civic ;-)

The one and only complaint I have with my i4 bumper is the fact that they only made the cut for the data cable plug exactly the size of the stock Apple cable. What does this mean? It means you can't charge your phone with any other cable that has a different size or shape connector because it wont plug in far enough to make contact.

My car charger cable doesn't fit. My FM transmitter doesn't fit, and my spare wall charger cable doesn't fit either. What a huge design flaw. Even my OtterBox Defender for my 3GS worked with the previosly mentioned cables.

Besides that one huge flaw I actually really like the bumper case. It doesn't give the phone any extra protection worthy of writing home about but it looks good and fits well.

I'm pretty sure that if you borrow your mom's emory board or nail file that you can gently enlarge the dock connector opening the couple of millimeters needed to make it fit.

Yeah, I always dreamed of paying $30 for a colored rubber band that offers zero protection. Now I can!!

Seriously, Im not trying to be a jerk, but these are worthless. Plus, they cover up the metal band & make the phone look like the old iPhones.

I just dont see the point.

I agree. As I stated in another thread "the Bumper case is like wearing a belt with no pants".

BJ-are you 14 or 15?

I think the bumper corrects a design flaw in the iPhone 4, in that it is a bit awkward to grip being so square and blocky compared to the 3GS.

Exactly right, I mean I'm so happy I paid top dollar for an Apple product that I need to modify myself to work correctly in common applications.

The bumper leaves the back open to scratches, I use a screen protector for the front but like to have the rest of the phone protected. The bumper is no good for me.

I'm going with the bumper. When I first saw pictures of it a couple weeks ago, I thought it was overpriced and nothing anyone would seriously like. On launch day, I saw 3 people who had them on their iPhones...I was sold and have been trying to get one ever since! I am using a Rocketfish case from Best Buy to hold me over.

If you're concerned about protecting the front and back with the bumper, and you're like me and not a fan of Invisible Shield; get screen protectors for the front and back.

I ordered these and should receive them early next week:

So $30.00 for a case and another $25.00 for zagg.....NO

The only play on mine is the upper left corner by the headphone jack and the silent switch. Everything else feels good. I might give it another day before giving up on this one and waiting for the one coming from China. Overall it doesn't feel bad but it's just annoying.

That being said, this iPhone feels sturdy enough to use without a case.

I figured out an easy fix for this. I just cut a small piece of microfiber and placed it in the top right corner of the bumper. It fills out the extra space caused by the silicon section by the headphone jack.

I said that I'm NOT a fan of invisible shield. That's why I posted a link to front and back screen protectors I purchased that costs under $10 shipped. I WOULD NOT buy Invisible Shield...I don't like the "orange peel" effect.

I edited my previous post to make it less confusing as to what I meant...

I am liking the Bumper a lot. I made sure not to stretch it out when putting it on for the first time. I thought the cost was expensive, but the stainless steel buttons built into it made me feel better about paying for it. It had slight play, but settled down and feels solid. You have to work the edges so that it wraps correctly onto the flat portions of the phone. Once my Wrapsol faces come in, I'm truly good to go. Of course I'm all paranoid until the Wrapsol protection arrives. :)
