Mine shipped yesterday :D Even though my phone is not shipping until July 14th at the latest, although I'm going to try and get one earlier than that and cancel my order.

I am incredibly wealthy and want everyone to know that through luck and marrying a high-earner they too can have the most expensive version of every Apple product made.

I just got back from the apple store with my bumper case. They seemed to be selling well cause they only had about 10 left and the whole display was nearing empty. So far I really like the case. Its discrete and i can feel better about putting my phone down on flat surfaces without it damaging the back part. It slid in and out of my pocket well but still has a good grip on it. Also since there is no back it creates a rim along the back, making for a very good hold in the hand. I havent had any trouble with my silent/vibrate switch and all the replaced metal buttons are responsive and clicky. Overall I'd give the phone probably an 8/10 because it doesn't offer much against scratches, but i think the bumper with one of the different types of scratch guard sheilds is going to be a good alternative to a full blown case like a Incase Slider (I did love mine on my 3g) or the Otterbox. Protection and a minimal style. The best part is that my iPhone 4 still looks like an iPhone 4.

Wow, simply the best accessory Apple has ever made. You are going to want one and they'll be as scarce as the iPad case so get yourself to an Apple store today before they're all gone.

Perfect mix of hand grip, pocket slide, and weight.

What I love, and was my concern at first, are the metal buttons and sleep/wake button they added.

Initially I thougt those buttons were exposed, but they are actually built on the case.

Seriously I am a case junky, bought more than I care to admit for my 3G/3GS. This is by far the best case I have used.

It is so comfortable to hold, form fitting, stays true to the design. Compare this case to the Candyshell Iphone 4 case, it's like night and day.

Granted the Candyshell offers more protection, but how I handle my phone, I don't need it. The other cases are huge compared to the bumper.

I am so glad that I purchased this case. The phone feels much better in the hand now. The new square design of the phone just didn't feel as comfortable as my 3GS; the bumper case fixes this issue.

I give it a 9/10.

Not bad, but not the best it could be.

Bumper + iP4 is still not as thick as 3G, maybe a smidge narrower, but taller than the 3G by approximately the depth of the metal part of a USB plug.

Hard plastic around the sides -- thicker than I like -- is bonded to soft rubber around the edges.

Fat fingers may have trouble flipping the mute switch.

Apple's own headphone plug just barely fits all the way in, so I can see where aftermarket units may not.

I would not have bought one without reading about all of the reception issues.

Hey BJ!

Are you using any screen protection for the front and back?
Thanks for the info.

No. I trust Apple glass to be very scratch resistant. I did not cover the front of my iPhone 3G which lived in a front pocket for 2 years and am not covering my iPad either.

Apple glass = good enough protection unless you're a blue collar type.

Nope. I'm a Windows guy. Vista is a great OS. Most just didn't have the cash to buy new hardware which was what was required. I'm an Apple Media Fanboy; their computers blow. We live in a PC world. That's where the money is. No one who uses a Mac makes any money. Get your kids onto PC's as soon as possible unless you want them living in your basement until they're 40.

+1 on the "still looks like an iP4" part. I hated the fact that my 3G never looked like a 3G because of the case I used. Now all can know I've got an iPhone, especially these days when all the Android's are copying the basic form factor.

+1 to everything. It's an amazing case mainly because it's not a case. Apple has re-thought what the case needed to be and eliminated the parts that weren't necessary.

Does the phone feel "fat" with the bumper?

No, quite the opposite. You know how the iPad feels "magical"? Well a naked iP4 feels very sterile, very industrial. The Bumper solves that and brings the magic instead.

So it doesn't really impeded getting your phone out of a pair of jeans?

No! That's the best part. The layering of the silicone/plastic/silicone in a convex shape allows it to be sticky in your hands and slippery in your pocket. It's magic.

rofl at your sig. get off your high horse.

I got the bumper - nice quality, but it no longer works with any of my griffin chargers. The connection on the older griffin chargers is deeper. Can no longer connect the new iPhone with the bumper on - bummer.

I think this might be a temp case for most people until an Incase or iSkin case comes out. But maybe it will be good enough. Who knows?
