Come on! its been 2 hours already are they stopping for food and drinks or what?

Departure scan at 0:15, Cargojet 571 departed YHM at 2:07 (1 hour delay from originally scheduled departure). I'd say that some iPhones are on this flight.

Track the flight's progress here: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/CJT571/history/20120921/0501Z/CYHM/CYYC

Under Activity Log, you can select the Calgary -> Vancouver flight to track the final leg once the plane departs Calgary.

well it says end of day for me but i'm on the island.. im hoping its by noon cause thats what UPS express saver is no?

Everyone originally had 'by 12 pm' on their tracker page, but it's now changed to 'by end of day'. They probably want to cover their butt in case they can't get all of these packages out to everyone by noon.

But yes, express saver is supposed to get to the destination by the next business day at noon.

but i wont be surprised they fly one here though haha. i talked to an UPS cargo worker today at my work place, he said that they had to arrange special trucking and flights to ship the iPhones over. Each truck load of iPhones has its own tracking as well and is accompanied by couple Apple guys.
As for Cargojet, their office is right next to my workplace. Their flights are usually during night time. I somewhat doubt they will use them to ship it over to the west coast.

Given the number of iPhones they've sold, I'm not surprised they could fill a whole plane full of them.

Take a look at the listed flights out of YHM (Hamilton Intl in Mount Hope, ON, where most people's packages just got departure scanned) I posted above- two Cargojet flights are heading west. One flight to Edmonton via Winnipeg and one flight to Vancouver via Calgary (which is the flight I suspect are filled to the brim with Calgary-bound and Vancouver-bound iPhones, including mine).

Come to think of it it might be true that its coming in via Cargojet cause i know they handle UPS shipments as well. Their planes usually arrives early morning. Damn it, it sucks that Im within reach of my phone but i gotta wait till after work. Their planes actually just parks outside of my workplace as well.

LOL... You're the equivalent of the Norad Santa Tracker! ;)

same here. I work near the cargojet building too, too bad stupid ups don't hold package at their depot for pick up until their first delivery

well at least i got my dad to wait for it in the morning haha. Funny thing is, I'll probably get my hands on the demo at the Apple store before going home to play with my own. Hopefully I will be able to get a nano sim from them.

Wow, never thought the UPS guys work that late. Sucks for them on such a big launch day, lol.

I've had an iMac get delivered past 10pm (this was UPS Hong Kong though). I thought I missed the delivery earlier that day when I was at work :p The poor guy told me he still had a few more stops to go.

The only thing I found odd was that I couldn't find any mention of a UPS-Cargojet partnership online: thanks for confirming that!

EDIT: Evidently, I wasn't looking hard enough... just found this:

"The Cargojet Team continues to be a very integral extension of the UPS Domestic Air Services in Canada. Cargojet and UPS have a strong partnership due to our mutual commitment to service excellence and flexibility which allows us to meet and exceed our customer expectations. Cargojet is a team player and we are proud to be associated with Cargojet.”

Mike Tierney, President - UPS Canada

Hahaha, I'm more certain than ever that's the flight the phones are on now :D

LMAO. I've been following the US tracking thread as well and see several members tracking planes and figuring out whose phone is where so I figured I'd try my hand at it :p

This just popped up on the TELUSSupport Twitter

Here we go, Telus Pre-Orders! It's begun!

...okay, so much for my phone being on the flight to Calgary. The timing still matches up with a Cargojet flight (W8 573, dep. 0:35, which continues to Edmonton), but wouldn't it be easier to just chuck it into the flight that, I dunno, actually goes to Vancouver?

Ya I'm stuck in Winnipeg and started to get curious how this is all gonna play out, this is much different from last year's 4S roll out. I never had mine come from eastern canada like this before...

ya I didn't expect to see Winnipeg in that.. but at least our iPhones are all in the same plane..

I'm just hoping it'll be here in the morning or afternoon..

Just looked at departures out of Winnipeg (where my phone is right now) and Edmonton (where the flight our phones took to Winnipeg continues to), but nothing scheduled to YVR other than a few Air Canada and Westjet flights.

Cargojet 575 goes to Calgary from Winnipeg, where it could connect to Cargojet 571 (the flight I originally thought our phones would be on) to YVR- 575 lands at 3:50, and 571 now departs at 4:30 (due to the delayed departure out of YHM). The arrival scan in Winnipeg reinforces this; if our phones were to continue to Edmonton it wouldn't get scanned here.

That's the only way where I can see my phone getting to YVR on a Cargojet flight- UPS doesn't contract with AC or WS, do they? If my package does end up on W8 571 after all, I'd be happy, but still confused as to why they wouldn't just stick it on that plane in the first place. They all originated from the same location anyways

There's a strong sense of camaraderie here :D We're all in this together!

They're probably distributing phones around Canada. Instead of employing several planes to various destinations ahead of time, which would be a wise plan, they're sending all the phones on one jet across the country to the various distribution centres and hoping everything settles in time

Makes sense: they've got most of their bases covered with these flights (Edmonton via Winnipeg, Vancouver via Calgary, and a few other flights to eastern Canada)- cheaper to ship too no doubt.

Still makes me a bit uneasy when it's supposed to be delivered in less than 12 hours and it's still three provinces away.

Now that we all got our tracking,… the UPS phone number reference tracking method proved useless!

That never worked for Canadian orders anyways.

North Vancouver, least my nano sim is activated and ready to go

Cool, so it's not an issue of my package missing the flight then :p

For the west coast, 10 more hours till 12pm. Plenty of time.
