Don't e-mail. Waste of time. Get your phone out and dial *611. That automatically puts you into a Telus rep. Tell them that others have received the credit and the client care team will do it at the press of a button. They're the ones with the true power.

Yeah I had already emailed at that point. I did receive a response though.

"Thank you for your e-mail.

As long as your original order was made during the time that the Promotion was available, you will get your Scene points number to redeem, as your contract start date will be the date that you ordered the phone.

Please e-mail us with your Scene Points number when you receive it, so your offer can be loaded. It will begin with 604646xxxxxxxxxx.

I would really like to hear from you regarding my e-mail. Below is a quick survey:

I noticed it considers my order date as the contract start date. I suppose that is good in the sense that my contract will be up (eligible for upgrade sooner, especially since Telus waives the last two months buyout fee)

If I do indeed receive code to redeem the scene points I'm assuming I can just use the form on the Telus site. If I don't receive I'll have to call in with this email in front of me.

You Telus folks are lucky, free upgrade to 64GB? Is that from 16GB or 32GB? Either way it beats the measly $50 I will get tomorrow for waiting 2 weeks for the phone. And now I'll probably have to wait even longer as Rogers tries shipping to other customers who ordered after me to avoid paying them the $50.

In 3 weeks, less than 300 phones of the model I ordered have shipped out, while they claim over 21,000 customers have received theirs over a week ago.

Personally I ordered a 32 gb and have been upgraded to 64. I almost didn't take the offer (didn't want to wait) but I figured it will just give more room for photos/videos and music etc to accumulate since I plan to use the phone for the duration of the 3 year contract.

I've also been assured I will still get my Scene points for 5 free movies. Should have the phone sometime this work week.

Have you received any email about your order yet? I'm in the same position as you - ordered 32GB Black while negotiating a new contract with Fido on Sept 26th. The retentions lady I was speaking with said I would receive an email from UPS when it ships and that it would arrive 'no later than Oct 10'. No word yet, would love to see a confirmation of order at the very least.

Can't wait to upgrade from the iPhone 3G!

I totally forgot about this thread. I called Fido and they told me the phone was indeed ordered. The next day I got a generated email from Fido saying that they don't have any iPhones in stock but that I would get a tracking number as soon as they have more. The next day I got my tracking number and then a few days after that I got my phone. The whole thing from retentions to having the phone in my hand was 11 days, but it felt really long!

The weird thing is that the UPS number said the origin scan was in my city. They probably just got it from the Apple Store!

So I paid my phone bill early with like $250 bucks extra, so I have a $250 credit with rogers now. I called them up and said if they don't waive my early upgrade fee of $179, I would cancel my plan and get an iPhone 5 from telus at regular price. His response was well, "you're gonna have to pay $200 to cancel your contract and that will be more than the upgrade fee", but I told him (lie) that telus offered me a plan that is $10 cheaper than my current plan, so I would save in the long run.

I told him "listen, I've been with you guys for years, and you're asking me to give you money, before I sign a contract to give you more money, that doesn't make sense, and the only thing keeping on rogers is my attachment to my phone number, now what are you willing to do?"

this is all with retentions by the way, I first just asked, "how much is it to cancel my contract?" and they won't even tell you, they'll ask "why" first..

anyways, long story short, I upgraded for free..seems like a little hassle, but I saved almost 200 bucks for being on the phone for 8 mins.

And having the extra credit in your account helps too, because you can ask them "just cancel it and send me a check for $50"
and they don't like doing that..lol

yeah mine just changed to "shipped" this morning. but the bad news is according to the tracking info the phone wouldn't be delivered till 16th. thats one week from now. i have seen peoples phone getting delivered in 3 days after shipment. hopefully it will be here by the end of the week.

Not sure if anybody's still following this thread, but thought I'd give an update in case anybody is still waiting for a phone from Fido:
I ordered a 32 GB Black iPhone 5 through fido retentions on Sept 26 and was told I would receive it no later than Oct 10th. I've received nothing but 'your phone is on backorder' emails since. I called today and the guy had to look into it to call me back. Shockingly he did just that about an hour later and left a voicemail saying there was a mixup between two of their warehouses - one had no supply and was issuing backorder notifications, the other had lots of supply and was filling orders way faster than expected. They have now fixed the issue and he expects the phones to be shipped very shortly (days rather than weeks).

Hopefully it gets here soon.

Just called rogers and got my fee reduced again. They have a special deal at retentions for the 16gb and 32gb.. Not sure about the 64gb as I didn't ask.
$279 (32gb) and they gave me $50 off and no activation fee
So like $262 w/ taxes included. Not too shabby. Especially if you paid to upgrade!

For those who ordered from Telus, how good were they about sending out a shipping notification?

I haven't heard a word from Telus since the preorder confirmation email and I am supposed to have received my phone tomorrow (Friday October 12).

I even accepted the free upgrade to the 64 gb version because of low stock for 32 gb, which added 2 weeks to my wait. I'll be a little peeved if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, mainly because then it is the weekend and not much I can do about it until next week.

I wish Telus at least had a section on their site where you could see the fact that you have ordered. It is only set up for your mobile account stuff, nothing about orders.

Got the phone today as expected. Didn't receive notice until this morning and at that point it was out on the truck for delivery already.

Only thing I can see wrong with it is some sort of mark under the camera lens. I don't see it affecting the image of photos but it is a little annoying, as someone into photography with DSLR etc... I will probably just move on and enjoy the phone, just wish I hadn't seen the mark! :p

I suppose with having it under the lens if it ever becomes an issue they can't really say I caused it from use?

Also, I just did my activation online without calling in, and it has kept my previous plan which was key because I'm only paying $55 for everything I need and more, and the new $65 and $75 plans don't even match up to what I have on my current plan.

Also I emailed support my Scene # like they had asked and they replied that I should see the points within the next 2 weeks. So those of you still receiving phones, make sure you contact them about the promotion if you ordered by the end of September!

I live in Vancouver, and up until yesterday, UPS has shown me an estimated delivery date of Monday, Oct 15. Everything was going fine, and my iPhone reached the Richmond, BC facilities, and then it said "Package data processed by brokerage Waiting for clearance" and the status changed to "Exception."
It's been like this for a full day now; I presume it's going through customs, but nothing's been happening. Also the estimated delivery date has disappeared. What's going on guys?

That sounds a little sketchy, as it gets shipped to Richmond then it should say "delivered" and then it gets sent to the store you requested to. Mine got the "delivered" status on a saturday at 10AM, but it didn't get sent out the store in North Van till Monday. Give it a few business days but give rogers a call see if they know what's happening.

I ordered my iPhone through the Fido reservation system on Oct 1. I have a plan from retentions organized, but I wanted the $50 credit if it comes late, which retentions don't offer. On Oct 6 it was #958 (black 64GB). On Oct 13 it was #584. On Oct 15 I got a text saying that since my phone was longer than 2 weeks I will get a $50 credit. So I'm happy about that, but will probably have to wait a total of ~4 weeks to get my iPhone. Fido are certainly not getting very many from Apple!
The other problem with the credit system, is now that my phone has taken longer than 2 weeks, Fido has no interest in getting it to me as quickly as possible. Perhaps they'll send out the new phones each day to those who have waited for 13 days in order to avoid the $50

ordered online on October 9.... Delivery date Nov 8-15...will be a long month thats for sure!

Already have the Otterbox Defender....will grab the nano sim once its shipped :D

Ordered/upgrade via ROGERS on the phone on October 1st.
UPS is delivering it today, October 18th......will receive a $50 credit for passing 2 weeks. not bad.

:)

Ordered a white 16GB iPhone 5 at 1pm October 17th, was 4804 on the waiting list. Currently 4764 on the waiting list. Looking forward to two $50 credits, but I wish Rogers was doing what Telus is doing and upgrading to 32 and 64gb models.

Quoting myself - a bit sad huh.
Anyway it's been 22 days now, and I'm down to #383. If I have to wait over 28 days I'll get another $50 credit, so now I'm hoping it will take a bit longer! But these wait times really are ridiculous. I'm sure I could pick one up at my local Apple store fairly easily, but now I don't want to lose my $50 (hopefully $100) credit!
