By the way, this is totally unrelated, but I passed a Rolls Royce Silver Seraph on my way to work today.
I'd forgotten how much I like the design-it's tasteful and very classically RR. This particular one was two-tone with a maroon lower section and silver roof/deck lid. Again, that's not something that any car could pull off but it works very well on the classically English lines of the last real Rolls Royce.
I know the BMW RRs are probably in virtually every quantifiable way better, but I've never warmed up to the "bathtub" Phantom. I'll also add that I sort of resent them using the Phantom name for their volume model(of course in relative terms) since that has classically been reserved for the ultra exclusive coach built vehicles. For reference, the last "Real" Phantom was in production for about 15 years and I think there were 300 and some of them made.
In any case, any RR is an uncommon enough sight on the road that it always gets my attention, and seeing a "real" one just makes me smile.
