Brett, very nice pictures. Love the environment in the last two!
@bunnspecial Wow, I haven't seen those keyboards in years. Original iMac, right?
I'd forgotten all of that. I was given a G3 clamshell back in the day when I was working at a company. They had these little handles so you could carry them like a briefcase. I can't remember if they had USB ports. We had those first iMacs too. And as you brought it up, I immediately recalled the puck mice. I refused to use those. I don't remember if the clamshell was popular among Mac users or professionals. At the place I worked at, each department had their own color. I don't remember a lot about it but I recall the laptop's key travel being abysmally short. The touchpad while accurate was annoyingly slow. The Intel based Macbooks were very good. The new ones are cheap crap.
Very impressive post, A. You'd get along with our VP. 😛 I had no idea Pininfarina did trains. I'd been told a long time ago that they did things other than cars but I never really looked into them. Just one of those things you say you'll look into but get too lazy to do.
I've been on trains only a handful of times in my life. I've ridden in some old classics and a couple newer ones. I don't like the feeling of riding on rails. It reminds me too much of a roller coaster. It's as if any moment you expect the car to derail and explode. Coincidentally, VAG's Audi division is supposedly building a train to move vehicles from their factories.
Nope, you are not.If you lease a car, have an accident that is properly repaired and then turn it in at the end of lease, are you responsible for diminished value?
That's a point for leasing I never thought about. Diminished value on a new car could be thousands of dollars lost at trade in.Nope, you are not.
As long as the repairs are done at a quality shop, you should be fine.
CARB technicians conducting lab tests on Audi’s vehicles made them react as if on a road by turning the steering wheel, the people said.
When the cars deviated from lab conditions, their CO2 emissions rose dramatically.
According to the minutes, Axel Eiser, the head of Audi’s powertrain division, said, “the shifting program needs to be configured so that it runs at 100% on the treadmill but only 0.01% with the customer.”
It's getting really ugly. Already, it looks like VW is going to cancel the R8 to cope with costsThis should go in PRSI but it'll probably get buried in 15 seconds today.
A report found Audi gasoline and diesel vehicles has emissions-cheat device.

Looks like I get to commit a felony and roll back the odometer on the MG.

In all seriousness, I documented changing the transmission in my MG a few pages back. The original transmission in my car would turn the speedometer drive gear at 1280 turns per minute, with the speedometer matching this. For whatever reason, in the 1974 1/2 model year, this was changed to 1000 turns per minute.
I could have sent my speedometer to Nissonger(US distributor for Smith's and Jaeger gauges) and had it recalibrated, but that's quite expensive. It would have been well over $300.
The easier and less expensive alternative, however, is to simply change the speedometer. 1000tpm was used on MGBs until the end of production(1980) however they instrument cluster was redesigned for 1977 with a larger speedometer(among other changes). For practical purposes, what this means is that a 1974.5-1976 speedometer will drop in to an earlier car. The bezel is a different shape, but fortunately that's a very simple fix.
The replacement has 69,000 miles, while my original has 85,000. I thought about rolling up the replacement, but did some quick calculations. My electric drill runs at 20mph(2000rpms). If I connected it to the speedo, I'd have to run for 33 continuous days to get the mileage to match.
Fortunately, the car is mileage exempt.
This kind of transitions into the rest of this forum, but has anyone else had boatloads of problems connecting their iPhone 7/7 Plus to their bluetooth. My Acura and my iPhone hate each other. The bluetooth is constantly disconnecting.
Definitely. For kicks and giggles, I reimaged by device last night (which it turns out isn't much of a big deal anymore). So far nothing, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.A few folks on the main Mustang forum I'm on have been reporting the same issue, sounds like the problem is on the phone side.

Girlfriend picked up a 2017 GTI last night. It's amazing what you can get at that price point. You can get them CHEAP up here in Northern VA. Sort of wishing my S3 had CarPlay. I appreciate the simplicity. One thing I noticed as I was looking at the USB port -- I cannot find an MDI interface. Did they finally do away with that crap?

I know, and a buddy of mine just bought a turbo bug! (Premium parking at crossfit 😀)
