Yes. Ultimately, Porsche and Audi will share the same electric platform.

I imagine it's more powerful? I haven't really followed much of that news since this last summer, or any car news really.

I'll be honest, I don't know. I think the power thing is going to blow over real quick because battery powered vehicles have an insane amount of acceleration but it's essentially a parlor trick. For one thing, you can 0-100 your Model 3 but you have to let it cool back down before you can do it again.

Yeah, I meant general power. I wasn't impressed with the Model S's performance around mountain roads in cold weather.

OTOH, a car like the 911 Turbo S can do, what was it, 50 launches back to back? Good luck doing that with an e-car. :p

Edit: Taycan will be a e-p-car or p-e-car? Running off of the p-car nickname.

Not only that, but doesn't it beat up the battery hard enough that aging causes a big performance hit?

I was under the impression that there were only a finite number of sub-3s 0-60s before the car limits the available battery power.

Of course, ICEs do lose power as they wear, but it's a much less pronounced than the battery limitations from Teslas.

Yup. Tesla won't let you do two drag races in a row. You have to let the battery collect itself.

I don't mean in the short term.

I'm talking about over the long term-i.e. even if you only punch it and do flat-out once a day or so, won't the 0-60 time still gradually increase to protect the battery?

How often do you do your max 0-60 though? Not that often for me. Now when I was 17 every set of lights was an opportunity!

Just washed the cars as the birds have been attacking them. I don’t want to be dealing with bird poo stains on the paintwork.

5-7x a week. During peak hours there are red/green lights on onways to the motorways here in this particular state. You need to get up to speed very fast to be able to merge or otherwise run out of road or be ran into.

I just did a Mothers carnauba paste waxing and the bird cr*p rinses off easily with plain water and a paper towel. It's hard to apply, but I think it may protect really well.

Mothers is a decent product. Bird droppings, if not removed off vehicle paint in an adequate amount of time, can tarnish the clear-coat, I’m always fairly cautious to make sure I don’t park under wires or near buildings, but it happens. When it comes to bird droppings, I won’t even attempt to scrub or remove any of it, I just bring out the power washer, as I don’t want to cause a micro scratches on the paint with rubbing. (Disclaimer: I do go on a diatribe of profanity that those freakin birds dumped on my clean ride, it makes me feel better.:D)

When younger and cared about my car more, I noticed all the birds in my area were seemingly eating nothing but blackberries and mulberries.

GM has fixed the Camaro styling for 2020. The SS gains the SEMA Camaro front end.

While also introducing the Camaro LT1 trim which is basically the 1LT trim with the LT1 V8. Starts at $35,000 vs $38,000 for the cheapest 1SS. It consists of:

    • LT exterior styling combined with the SS’s vented hood.
    • LT1 fender badges and black bowtie emblems.
    • 20-inch x 8.5-inch SS style wheels at all four corners and all-season tires (versus the SS’s staggered wheels and summer performance tires).
    • Available Technology Package, including the Chevrolet infotainment system2 with 8-inch-diagonal color touchscreen and Bose premium audio system.

The 3.6 V6 will be gaining the 10 speed automatic.

Definitely looks better. The 2019 model was hideous. The 'sideburns' or whatever you want to call them blend in some with the body color cross-section now, but it'd look even better if they just got rid of them.

It's funny, it's not that big of a change and yet it makes a world of difference on how handsome the car looks

It’s a brilliant move that GM added the 10 speed to the V6, I’m sure makes this ride that much more interesting. I originally was one that chastised the 10 speed with the 18’ Mustang GT when they introduced their version about a year ago (Mainly it seemed like it wasn’t sure/confused which gear to select), and let me tell you, the 10 speed transmissions are game changers once you have time to become acclimated to how it shifts.

As for the 2019 Camaro, I just thought it was obscure when they placed the Chevy logo on the front bumper, but more than anything, the refresh with the tail lights from the back is actually executed nicely. I think it’s easy to mock a picture of a car when you first see it, but seeing it in person really does change your perspective.

Altogether, the Camaro is a fairly sharp looking car, aside from some interior choices/design cues that I’m not too keen of. I think now that GM revised the 2020 Camaro, at least shows they were listening to some of the consumer feedback that was negative to make these changes that were necessary.

My coworker has a 2019 and it's nice, but yeah the front is weird and the car has so many ridiculous shortcomings.
    1. The visibility is horrible (I can't believe Chevy hasn't addressed this yet)
    2. The trunk entry is laughably small
    3. It's just dark on the inside. It's not great
    4. Substandard interior
    5. Joke rear seat

The Visibility argument on the Camaro is already well known and gets brought up every time, everyone knows that already about the Camaro visibility before they even Purchase/consider this car, but the same could be said about my Mustang GT/Other Mustangs, it has horrible visibility towards the rear and the quarter panel windows are absolutely useless.

As far as the backseat, not an issue, again, it’s a coupe, no one cares about the backseat when you’re purchasing a sports car like a Mustang, Camaro, etc. My Backseat never even gets used in the first place (And my past performance cars backseats were never used either) and I’d rather have a seat delete then anything else for some weight reduction.

The Biggest issue I for-see with the Camaro isn’t the design or visibility, it’s the abysmal ‘resale value’ that’s subpar. When you’re buying a car like a Mustang or Camaro, or whatever, you’re buying it for the performance aspect, you have to overlook things like the backseat room, head-room, the design cues are strictly prerogative, but you have to take the good/with the bad with any sports car Purchase. The Mustang, Vette, ect, all have there flaws included, it strictly comes down to personal preference with these cars, that’s it.

They should do what Cadillac did with the rear view mirror.

1.2.3.5. the solution is the convertible. Open the roof.

Most of the Camaros here are Convertibles V8 engined.

I am really surprised how popular mustang and camaro are in my Country.(Switzerland)

This is making excuses for huge shortcomings of the car.

The visibility is a mess. That should be enough to sink this car. I have driven a Mustang and it's honestly not nearly as bad as the Camaro is. They really screwed it up.
    --- Post Merged, May 3, 2019 ---
Most Camaros sold aren't convertibles and "get a convertible" is not a viable workaround for horrible visibility.

The 2019’s do get the rear view mirror camera.
