In Germany the Asus 6k monitior is listed at alternate at 1400€, but not for sale now, the Asus 5k monitor is in stock and for sale at 800€.
In 2016 the rollout of the LG 5K was pretty bumpy. So waiting a few months might not be the worst idea. But that product launch in 2016 was very unusual -- don't forget they had a retail partnership with Apple (now that news made the LG Newsroom!). I don't think LG was fully prepared for the level of scrutiny that Apple is subjected to -- there was an adjustment period. No doubt they learned from that experience. If the LG 6K does get released in September, I suspect it may be available only at very near full retail price. In that case, I’d consider waiting until Black Friday for a sale here in Canada. And if there is no good deal on Black Friday, then maybe Boxing Day.
However, I don’t know what LG’s usual pricing practices are with very recent new releases on Black Friday and Boxing Day.
Now it's up (same link as above):Note: In adding Taobao.com links for the Chinese companies, I came across this listing for a high-end Geekon 6K display yet to be unveiled (the graphic says it will be "seen at the end of July"), ¥11499

The above price was only for the first day. Here's the current entry:Now it's up (same link as above):
Wow. That 28" 4.5K 3:2 monitor at 193 ppi is intriguing. Even better though would be a 30.4" 5K 5120x2880 version of the panel with that same 193 ppi pixel density. Here's the entry so far:
Geekon HERO 32 (Hero 超凡 series)
Panel: Quant IPS (four-side LED backlight) - 31.5" - 6144x3456 - 223 ppi - 1600/2000 nits - 2000:1 contrast
Color: 10-bit depth - 100% DCI-P3 - 100% sRGB - 100% Adobe RGB
I/O: USB-C (100W), 2x USB-A 3.2, 2x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1
## 3.5mm audio out
Geekon Creative Studio site (not yet listed as of August 1)
Taobao.com official store (log in to see all products): ¥11499
"Quant IPS" is similar to LG Display's "Nano IPS" (in the Kuycon G32P, for example) -- it refers a "Quantum Dot" ATW polarizer on the backlight.
The Hero series ("超凡" in Chinese, something like "otherworldly" or "extraordinary") will also have a 27" Retina 5K, a 24" 4K (~183 ppi), and a 28" 4500x3000 (~193 ppi). For now, the only one with any details is the HERO 32 Retina 6K. Note the following text, which probably means they are all BOE panels [?]: 国货旗舰 "Flagship Domestic Product" and 来自中国的超级旗舰, something like "Original Chinese Excellence" (literally "superior flagship originating from China"):

B&H Photo has preorders starting August 18th!Looks like Asus 6K is imminent... in the US, they've added "Buy" buttons to the product pages, but they don't seem to work yet (for me at least).
Kind of wobbeling-alarm, and it is not in glossy... that makes it worse!Found a 3rd video of the Asus:
The wobbeling is less of a big deal as if you really wanted to, you can get a VESA arm for it. I personally would prefer the glossy screen over the matte, but still... 6k resolution at 1/4 the price makes these complaints pretty minor.Kind of wobbeling-alarm, and it is not in glossy... that makes it worse!

I’d be very surprised if there is a nano-texture option.LG UltraFine 6K 32U990A - September 2025
Any ideas on pricing, and assume there is a Nano-texture option?
September seems highly unlikely, this rumor is only based on LG Greece article which was about 2 monitors not just the 32U990A. The other monitor is listed on others LG website so I guess that makes sense this one is gonna come out in September and they made a mistake saying both will be.LG UltraFine 6K 32U990A - September 2025

Nobody in the world besides Apple is offering nano-texture screens for mainstream users AFAIK. I believe it is independent of the LG panel so it wouldn’t matter if Apple is using LG panels or not, but I could be wrong.why?
I was thinking (hoping?) sometime in Q4 2025, if the original intent was Sept. 2025.September seems highly unlikely, this rumor is only based on LG Greece article which was about 2 monitors not just the 32U990A. I wouldn't expect the 32U990A this year, otherwise LG wouldn't sit watching Asus do all this. If the LG was close to production they'd at least release full specs and say "available late 2025" or something so people don't pre-order the Asus and wait

Yeah I wonder what's the deal between LG and Apple, because LG have had a 6k panel for a long time now (almost 6 years since XDR was released) and no doubt they could have make their own 6k monitor sooner.Yeah seems suss no news at all. Maybe Apple are negotiating a deal with LG to not release it as it will compete with their XDR display. As no doubt LG will make the XDR 2 for Apple...
Is LG perhaps similar to Samsung in that there is an “LG Display” and an “LG”, but they are two independent companies that have a joint holding company, but are basically just a service provider and customer when it comes to providing a new monitor model?Yeah I wonder what's the deal between LG and Apple, because LG have had a 6k panel for a long time now (almost 6 years since XDR was released) and no doubt they could have make their own 6k monitor sooner.
Also, I believe LG stopped selling their UltraFine 5k monitor when the Studio Display came out.
So maybe they had some kind of exclusivity deal that expired, LG announced the 32U990A and that gave them some leverage to negotiate with Apple for a better deal/XDR 2 deal
Ah. Matte is quite common but it’s a very different thing from Apple’s nano-texture. Anyhow, there’s a good chance it could be only matte or only glossy.I meant a "matte option" equivalent to Apple's nano-texture. Doesn't matter what it's called as long as you're not seeing yourself or distracting reflections...
