i think why timbuk2 has a small strap because of the design. it was reall design like it will hug you either way front and back. honestly, i dont know the difference on both. freestyle vs classic. i just ordered classic XS and saw on ebay for $56 seller is ebags. color is black/black/black

the bag is nice but really i find vertical bag kinda gay. i dont know its just me...

I looked at both classic xs and freestyle yesterday at REI and ended up getting the freestyle. The only real difference that I could see was that the freestyle has an extra padded pocket for a netbook (will fit an iPad nicely I think), and it is $5 cheaper. All of the other pockets were identical between the two.

I have the Timbuk2 Netbook bag - and LOVE IT. It holds more than I thought possible!!

I'd not hesitate to jump up to the next size for a bit more space if you needed it - but really, i'm beyond pleased. I can take pictures later - i'm blasting out the door. Actually, i'll take the pictures where i'm going to upload when i get back.

I ordered thru eBates and eBags and got it on-sale (coupon) AND a rebate (i ordered 2 of them). Cool beans!

Here it is Wednesday night and still no case and they will not return my email asking them about it. I even asked if they could switch to a case that they have in stock.

It is a shame because the look to have really nice cases, but their customer service is lacking. Beware about ordering from them unless on line. If you can pick one up in person that would be better.

Hard Candy Just emailed me and they are switching me to the Bubble Case and free overnight shipping. They have made me very happy and I will post pictures of the case when it comes in.

Thank god for that, if you had said it was a bit straight I might of had to send it back.

But, coming back on topic, its extremely good quality, the leather will age well, and fits the iPad perfectly. Very happy with it.

I am giving this bag serious thought. Will the iPad in the Apple case fit in the slot?

The Muzetto may be a bit too "fancy" or formal for me. It's a nice looking bag, but I'm more casual than that, maybe it's the leather. I might go for the Tom Bihn Ristretto. I would like to see a picture of the Black/Steel version, but they have not loaded one on their site yet.

I'm also considering the Booq Taipan Shadow XS, but their color options are rather limited and not a fan of the color combinations (i.e. Black/Orange, and Grey/Teal).

I may end up getting another custom Timbuk2. I like the improvements they made on their 2010 Classic Messenger, but would get an XS version this time. The strap length is the only thing holding me back.
 
Glad to find this thread. I'm sort of a bag aficionado, and have been shopping for bags for weeks. Have seen most of what is here, but I tend to want a nicer quality than most styles presented. Here's a few that are on my potential list:

Found a new, simple bag today. It's not my style, but it seemed well built, and the price is definitely right.

Western Pack Utility Bag

ONLY $12! I saw the actual bag and it's well built for its style. I may pick up one just for a more casual bag.

As much as I love this Orbino Case, lusting, actually, isn't it built wrong? Do you really want the corners exposed like that? That seems to be exactly where you DON'T want a dropped iPad to hit.
 
Assuming the Incase and Targus cases/sleeves (available at Best Buy on launch day) are nothing special, I plan to just get the Apple one for transporting; I don't think I'll keep it on consistently.

Amazon.com has pictures of the Targus cases mentioned in the Bestbuy playbook (model numbers from the playbook match their site). The links don't appear to work yet, but at least it's a glimpse. I think I posted the link in this thread.
 
Just wondering whether anyone's foofbag has shipped yet. I pre-ordered and my estimated ship date was April 1st, but it's now the 3rd in Australia and I haven't heard anything. I was hoping not to have to go too long without a sleeve for my iPad, but it looks like it will be a few weeks.
 
I wish I had time to create another thread that mimicked this one but with a product name and picture with the picture directing you to the product site. You could easily scan the page to see which ones you like the look of without needing to click on all the links.

I donno about that, it looks like it won't hold up well. book binding? on my older books the binding is the first to go so that doesn't sell me.
More an exercise in style and PC'ness over function. Dodo case? Weren't Dodos dumb birds who couldn't even fly that became extinct?

thanks for the great review. This is on top of my list but I still can't decide if I want this one.

Can you fold the cover all the way back? I don't want to have the left cover flapping around if I use the iPad while in the case. Thanks!
