iPhone 17 Pro Max The Cosmic Orange thread. What’s your opinion?

I want to use a clear case on mine but I'm worried it would or could scratch the edges of my phone. The case I'm using has a soft felt lining on the inside to protect the edges of the phone.
Honestly once I put a case on I don’t take it off unless I’m permanently replacing it with a different case 😅 I know most folks remove cases to clean the phone sometimes but I’ve just never done that. This case will stay put until I get my permanent Halloween case Monday and I’ll keep it on until I get tired of it and want something new
I personally haven't cared for the various photos and videos of the orange and all of it pushed me to the deep blue instead. I will say that for me personally, I thought the orange looked so, so much better in person today. Why photos and videos cannot seem to capture the slight metallic sheen is beyond me but yeah, I thought in real life it looked much better.
I finally received mine, absolutely love the color. Will it hold up, I don't know. I hope so, but we will see.
I was expecting not to like it since a lot of people on reviews were saying it was too loud. I am in love with the cosmic orange to say the least. First year in a very long time I haven’t felt like second guessing my choice in my color. That being said, for now I’m going to baby it and put it on a Ryan London’s leather case , loving the contrast and accents in the front screen.

I had a look at the cosmic orange when I was picking up my Deep Blue and Ultra 3.
I love the color. They did an amazing job and the phone is quite beautiful. However I do think this is a color and phone which for me to own, two things would have to be true:
1) I would want to use the phone caseless. Becuase the beauty of this phone is in the brilliance of the whole look. Covering it up (e.g. with a case) makes it look ****** IMO.
2) I would be a person who doesnt care about coordinating things with his other accessories and clothing. This is where the Orange fails me. I could see it if I was phone swapping and accessorized orange, but on a normal day to day basis it just doesn't fit with my look.

I was skeptical about it initially. I would have gone with black, as with my 16 Pro Max, had it been an option.
But orange is my favorite color, when I'm not in a purple mood, so at that point I wanted it to be very orange; ideally with a similar finish to the button my original Apple Watch Ultra.
And ... it is!
I always run my phones without a case, so it's full orangey goodness (too orangey for crows ...) is visible.
Originally I'd figured, since I didn't care for the pictures of the silver or blue online at all, if I didn't like the orange, I'd have just not opened the thing (picked up in store, so could see it in person) and kept what I had.
Though in person, the blue would have been fine as well - much nicer looking in the "flesh" than it is online.
Don't like the silver at all, still.

picked mine up in Apple Store today, looks way better in person than on the photos. Got a blue Tech Woven case, and I love that color combo
Went to get my silver PM and saw it in store. I actually liked it and I thought I would hate it. Very unique and a cool color option. If on the fence I would say go for it.
Picked mine this up this morning. I was unsure when I pre-ordered but I gambled and I think the true colour was pretty much my best case scenario.

- Funnily enough I like how the orange looks from every angle except the front. Having always has black phones, I'm not used to seeing the coloured metal border around the screen.
- I actually think it looks best when it's not in direct sunlight. The colours are really nice but the sparkle/texture of the aluminium doesn't look great to me.
- The colour of the Ceramic Shield panel on the back is incredible, if it was still full glass back like the older models it would be AMAZING!
- Anyone calling it "pumpkin spice" couldn't be more accurate.
- Before I changed my mind last minute, I was going to order Deep Blue. The Deep Blue is actually really nice in person but I still really feel like the "boring" colour should have just stayed as black or grey. It's not blue enough to be fun and not dark enough to be the "base colour" in my opinion.
- This is less about colour and more just the phone itself; I don't love the feel of the aluminium... The titanium had a nice blend of "cold metal" feel and was also a nice dull texture with a delicate shine. The aluminium feels warm, non metallic and any shine to it is a bit artificial. I understand it's a technical decision and has benefits but I really do think it's quite a big ergonomic/tactile downgrade.

got mine today and very happy with it. I have always wanted Apple to have a fun color for the pro models and they finally did it.
I like it but wish it was a bit of a darker orange.

I was so surprised, but pleased, when apple announced it. Mine arrived yesterday, and I’m a little disappointed if anything. I saw another post that suggested its colour on the Pantone chart is actually papaya. And for me, unfortunately I think it is. I wish it were a bit darker and punchier I your face orange. In reality it leans a bit more towards salmon, which for me is a bit weak. I had the papaya watch band once and that always left me a bit meh (it was soon sold). I had really hoped to love it, but as it is I think I’ll see how it goes for a few days and try and see the blue in person to see if I swap to that and then use a “proper” orange colour case on it.
I have to say my peace and I understand that liking or disliking design/color is personal. If you like orange thats great, but I think it's the ugliest, cringiest color apple or any cellphone maker has ever produced. The difference from aluminum, to the antennas, to the ceramic glass cheapens the appearance even more with such a bright color. I have trouble seeing people holding it while walking. With a case it's oddly worse. If you like it thats awesome I just don't.

I love the color! Mine will go in a Loopy case as soon as it arrives, but I’m excited for the combo because I think it’s gonna look great!
I don’t think I like the orange although that is the one I went with. It looked good in store, so I cancelled my deep blue. However, when I got it home, I really started noticing some peach/pink undertones in certain lighting and the Ceramic Shield on the back is just so contrasting (and yes, I do use my phone case less from time to time). The leaks that said apricot was the color were right on the Ceramic Shield. I’m still torn though on whether I just keep it or not. But the orange around the front bezels is really jarring to me.
