Played with the s5 in a tmobile store and it was much faster, responsive and had no lag unlike the att version! Must be the carrier bloatware?
Thats funny, my AT&T version seems to missing the lag... I hear the T-Mobile version also comes with cute tiny little network too! ;)

Sold my Note 3, did not pull the trigger on the M8 and I am not going anywhere near the S5.

So I remain for now on the sideline for a brandy new flagship. But I have the 5s, Moto G and Nokia Lumia 521 to mess around with, the latter should be fun next week.

Why did you sell your note 3?

Why did you sell your note 3?

Too big was the main reason and I got a good price for it. Trust me I have nothing bad to say about the Note 3 whatsoever except some bloat and features I would not ever use but even still.

I am going to wait for the iphone6, I have those other phones to use for now.

Yeah the size isn't for everybody, if you have a phone to use for now suppose it's all good. IPhone 6 has Alot of expection and 4.7 might be a more suitable size

More pics from our hike yesterday. The place where most of the pictures were taken is a natural forming bridge made from an underground spring. The water cut through white travertine rock so some of the rock and cave looks very white.....auto focus with no editing....just point and shoot......

Great snaps, especially the latter ones. :). First one a little over exposed but rest look really great ... I wish we had sun like that, I went hiking today and all I got was this ..... Couldn't see more than a few feet from your face on the mountain.

I am not sure MRU where I am from it is hot all the time and sun just burns you so seeing those pictures of yours with the fog like that looks awesome to me! :)

I feel like getting the S5 for the better display, camera, battery life, and updated processor would be a waste it I wanted to put stock Android on it or get the google play edition. The heart rate monitor, fingerprint scanner, gesture feature hardware would just be sitting there never to be used.

They probably just haven't activated it from within security settings.

It seems there is definitely no lockscreen widgets option on the S5.

I asked them to check in the security panel in settings and it isn't there. The Nexus devices have it there but Samsung has it on the lockscreen panel in settings (checked on my S3).

I can't understand why Samsung would disable this feature. Maybe they'll add it in a future update.

Jamezr, can you confirm this? Can you add dashclock widget to the lockscreen or any other widget?

Seems like camera is the only option.

I diagree.....it is practical. I can go on a long walk with the wife and log all the details including heart rate into my profile on my phone

Maybe you didn't read my link: the heart rate you are logging is wrong 50% of the time.
Btw I can't see how useful could be to log heart rate after a walk, but this is a totally different matter .....

I'm disappointed with all the new flagships, and been disappointed with all last year's flagships too

Sadly that is true ...

Since iPhone 5 release there isn't a single flagship that really captured my interest. I bought an iPhone 5S, and I like it, but I'm not amazed ....
S4 ... G2 ... One ... Note 3 ... Z1 ... S5 ... M8 ... None of them really excites me.
Maybe the Lumia 1520 was the interesting one, but it's really too big to be my phone.
I really hope in iPhone 6 .....

Well, I just came back from the att store and I picked up a S5. I ordered a Nexus 5 and I should be getting that tomorrow. I know this will be a hard decision between both these devices. I love the hardware on the S5....but love the software of the N5:D

Definitely not a fan of TW but this version is ok at best. Also, wanted black but all they had was white. Didn't feel like driving different places for a color. All in all...with the brief time I been playing around with it.....fast and no lag that I can see. However, I know that could change once apps are loaded and with continuous use, we will see how everything goes after a few weeks. The verdict is still out:cool:

Had another look at a S5 today in passing. I don't normally like white devices but looks smick on this phone, maybe not good for grubby hands.
I could see the USB port becoming a problem, hard to open, not sitting flush and eventually breaking, not good for docks i don't imagine. I could be wrong though.
What does interest me is the waterproofing or more so rain proof(USB plug a side).
Would be a phone you don't need a case for.
And in Australia it has been given a blue tick by our biggest telco which means it has better handheld reception in rural areas. M8, 5S, are not. 5C is.

The One M7 excited me, unfortunately the battery life killed my joy of that one. The Note 3 excited me too, but I got tired of carrying such a large phone. The M8 while not as exciting as those 2, I like alot more after using for a week.

Can't wait for the next iPhone though.

Checked out S5 and Note 3 in Best Buy. Best Buy actually has much better , nicer floor display setup for these phones than ATT store.

I am trying to upgrade from Gnex. I haven't looked at s2, s3, s4 and other nexus flavors in between. S5 is like a Note 3 in smaller form factor. I am not sure actual difference of screen area between two, but S5 screen felt big enough and pretty close to note 3. Looks like Home button doesn't take up any screen space unlike Gnex.

There are some feedback on other forums about improved radios compared to Note 3. My G nex has one of the worst radios. That is very positive for me if I get S5. Speaker design is not good on S5. Phone back rattles while using speaker and during even heptic feedback. It needs a case for subsiding rattles.

Another thing is, BB store has attaching mechanism to the display stand. They over tightened the clips which bent phone upwards (towards screen) a little. Little care to be taken (buckling strength) when putting in Jean pockets.

I am going to wait few weeks and see if price subsides a bit either for this phone or other phones. I am hoping that, my company offers something like LG G2 or other similar phone for free.
