A couple of days ago I paid a visit to Steve Wozniak's site, went to his personal webcam page http://wozcam.woz.org/ and I zoomed in on the desk. Surprise... I found what seemed to be a user manual with an Apple logo... it was a small white bookled, with a big title "GAME ROOM"... could that be the new digital lifestyle appliance??

i just saw it on his desk and took screen caps!

before anyone starts saying these are fake please go to the woz cam yourself and you will see it sitting on the right of woz's g4 keyboard

I sincerely hope apple is not thinking of making a game system

i'm pretty sure its software... there is a cd sleeve face down next to the "game room" booklet

the booklet seems a little old because of the simple black apple logo... the last few booklets i've gotten from apple have some sort of color logo or a logo with a drop shadow

I can imagine Woz's giddy laugh as Job's is telling him how to have a little fun with us by planting that booklet there.

in

and the fact that woz has "in" on the trash can isnt help his creadibilty (SP?) either, lol

GAME ROOM

First of all, I would love to know how you control that stupid web cam. Everytime I would get it to where I wanted it, it would move.

This guy obviosly left this book and disks out in plain site so we could see them. What could this game room be? Somekind of web site/software?????

:) i get your point...
anyway, woz has always had that "in" sign on his trash, it's not new at all.

Wall?

Are you sure that's a book? Looks more like a wall sign to me, like something he'd hang up next to the door to his game room.

I think that where no pc has gone before is : bringing togeather thaousands of it's users to talk about their love for it, and to have them discuss it (probably not..). Someone at apple should be givin a nobel prize for best marketing on earth tho.

Dricci is right, now that i look at it it doesn't look like a book but more like a plaque... weird

it does look like something that would be put on the door of an office... maybe when he left he got to keep it

but why is it on his desk?

Not a book, a room tag

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that isn't a manual. Its the room tag from the wall outside of one of the conference rooms at the Apple Cupertino campus.

In Infinite Loop 2, 4th floor, there is conference room with the name "Game Room.'" That is the label tag from outside the room. I would recognize one of those things anywhere. Now, why Woz has that particular one on his desk is somewhat of a mystery (he probably just liked the name).

Sign

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a sign you would stick on a door, not a booklet. Take a close look, do you see any pages. Normally if you had been flipping through a little booklet like that it would curl up a little on the edges after you had been reading it and not sit perfecly flat. And if it was something new and great how could you resist looking through it????? :)

yahoo messenger chat

i dont no if there is a chat on this site, but if you have yahoo messenger go to chat-computers and internet (user rooms) and then macworld sf 2001 chat

Viral Marketing

Apple is using "viral marketing" to promot what is probably a much better Expo than the last one (which isn't that hard to do).

Basically Apple plants hints on its web site, but does not give any concrete details or anything.

Someone somewhere picks it up and runs with it, fueling wild speculation. SpyMac.com throws out more fake Apple product info with faked video/stills that are so obviously fake its not even funny.

Remember the iPod? The invites certainly did garner a lot more press then announcing an MP3 player would otherwise get. Granted the iPod is the coolest MP3 player/FireWire hard drive ever (well okay is the ONLY one like it). At CompUSA it seemed to be the only one that was working and actually usable. All the rest look like Star Trek reject props.

The viral marketing technique was used for that movie A.I. that flopped when people found out it was really dark and depressing.

The very bottom line is EVERYONE is talking about Apple even though they have NOT announced ANY new product or change in strategy or merger or whatever else people are guessing will happen.

This performance should get some type of award in the least for being the most effective "buzz" generation by any company even outdoing Windoze XP's intro (yawn, if it could really make me fly I'd buy it).

It looks more like a book than a sign

It does have page depth and on the left hand side of the booklet ot has a crease from where the spine of the book would be. I am also intrested about the post when tech tv said the words...."Home Entertainment appliance"

What font is that?

Could somebody tell me what font "Game Room" is in?

I really like it.
It looks like the font they use in The Village ; )

Why doesn't Woz just leave a booklet entitled
"Apple Stategies on Warp Propulsion Public Dispersal" or "Apple Approved Fission Materials for PPC 7700 Family" on his desk?

My guess: Maybe a seating chart for MacWorld VP's?

From now on I am taking the stance that Apple is not introducing anything new on Monday. That way there is no way i will be dissapointed. :)

Come On Guys!

Okay, okay...did you guys check out the rest of his site...I have not been there in a while, but from a past visit, I remember he used to have a camera that could view his own peronal arcade room...this room had a bunch of pinball machines and old video games when I last visited. Don't you think this is simply a plaque that he is going to put on the door to his own personal "game room" ala Woz-Arcade?

It could be a Woz joke...the man supposedly loves jokes. And, with all of this heated MacWorld rumor, well, if I was in his shoes with a web cam and an eager audience, I think it would be fun to mess with all of our heads.

We'll just have to wait until Monday.

i'm with the sign side...

it looks like a plastic sign to me... even looks like the letters are engraved..... maybe it was left there on purpose, or just happened to be there, but either way i'm sure he'll love the speculation.

this following last weeks assumption that his gameboy is the new Apple secret product.look at it this way.... someone gives Woz a secret new Apple device to play with, one that no rumor site has really been set on, would he be playing with it in fron of the webcam? doubt it. Steve and friends have to be loving the fact that nobody is REALLY sure what to expect. i am ruling out the iWalk at this point.... but even the cube was leaked, so was the iPod..... the only safe assumption is *something* we see monday will be getting those 100,000 new flat panels.
