On LCDs, there is absolutely no different in power consumption no matter what colour is being currently displayed. Brightness (using the slider) is another matter irrespective of the colour shown on the screen.

Good to know. Then I guess I'll need to do some research on what could be causing my quicker battery drain with IOS 7. I had my settings all very specific with the 6 version and they appear at first glance to be the same. I haven't used my iPhone any differently but at the end of my workday I end up with around 35% remaining instead around 55% pre IOS 7. So this is pretty concerning. I'm on travel this weekend and really hope my phone makes it through the day.

I also love the update to iOS 6...iOS 7 is awesome. updated on my iPod Touch 5g and set it up as a new device. No lag, fluid animations! awesome update! only gripe is that CC is sometimes hard to bring up inside many apps, but that is small price to pay for an update that brings so much utility and modern interface design to a rapidly aging OS.

The slow animations that many people claim will be fixed in due time. Whenever a huge change such as iOS 7 is released, it takes a couple of versions to sort out all the smaller bugs and design glitches. iOS 8/9 will be perfection that iOS 7 has created.

The future looks bright for Apple (at least in terms of iOS), for hardware that is another matter for another day.

Just my 2 cents..

I don't understand why people on this forum have trouble grasping the idea of opinions. The haters aren't wrong... in their minds.

There can be no doubt that Steve Jobs is dead! ios 7 would never have seen the light of day under Steve! This thing is pure crap. I have it now on both my iphone and my ipad and iit really sucks. The graphics are pathetic. The usability is a total disaster! This piece of crap SUCKS! SUCKS! SUCKS!

this is the most accurate statement in this entire thread^

No one is right, no one is wrong, it is all subjective. This is not a question of whether the messages app has a green color or a not, this is more like of a "Do you PERSONALLY LIKE THE FEEL of iOS7? Why, or why not?"

I personally like it. I just don't like the animations that take a wee bit of time, and the battery life can use some tweaking or fix up.

It would be good if we could split this forum into a negative and a positive sub forum. I don't think the fans and the haters have a constructive word to say to each other!

I'm on the fan side, and I find all this whinging tedious. There are only about 5 threads I can read at the moment!

Using it on a 5s. Smooth as butter.

iOS7 is kind of like beauty and the beast. Remember that Seinfeld episode where Jerry dates the girl who looks awesome in the dark, but in the light looked like a monster? I think this is iOS7 at the moment!

BEAUTY: The translucent effects work tremendously well.

BEAST: iOS7 iMessage is just about the ugliest thing Apple has ever released.

I fully understand the folks complaining about too much white. I totally agree. Luckily it's a very cosmetic things and won't be difficult to change... I hope!

A pass mark for iOS7? I think so...

Of course it may not be the most bug free OS but i agree with the starting post. This is an amazing job by Apple and i cant wait to see how they improve it even more with the iOS8 release

I've only had an iPhone (an iPhone 5) since July and it's my first Apple product, but I had absolutely no complaints about the phone with iOS 6, and so far I have no complaints about the phone with iOS 7. And that's really, really rare for me to have no complaints about a gadget. It speaks well of Apple. I hope it continues that way. For now, I'm pleased as punch, and that includes iOS 7, which was a change but not nearly as disruptive as I had feared.

The Ios is perfect! End of disscusion.

Except that changing wallpaper on my ipad 3 lags. But who changes the wallpaper so often that it becomes a problem?

I wouldn't say its perfect by a long shot. No OS is perfect.

I'd also agree that Steve would never have let this out the door, but since he's now gone :( We have other people making the decisions. Those decisions are not wrong, just different.

Overall, I like iOS7 and what it brings to the table. I was not like skeuomorphism, it was over done in iOS6 so cleaning up the UI was a great move.

Some of the icons are not so nicely done, but that's more personal preference. I'm sure there's bugs in the OS, every X.0 version of an operating system have them (windows, OSX, Linux, etc).

From a usability perspective, there's some good things and some things that make you scratch your head but overall I give apple a B+ on upgrade.

I love the functionality, but I don't care for the looks. IMO It seems like they sacrifice looks for speed, because my 5 is a lot faster. When it comes to technology, I'll take speed over looks any day.
Just compare the old notepad and the new notepad. Which one looks better? I'm not tech savvy like most of u guys, but I think the old one is a RAM hog.

I overall really like it.

Not to cross anyone but the folders 3:3 grid is no issue for me or thousands of people. Apple needs to focus on more important things mentioned

Sorry for the rant BUT c'mon man!! :)

No OS is perfect but I'm very happy with IOS 7--for me it has not been much of a leap to adapt to the new interface--still seems more evolution than revolution--but that's the way it should be--and this was a giant leap from IOS 6--very nice effort by Apple.

Like ios 7 so much that I bought the Touch yesterday. Could not see hauling the Mini for. the iTunes. radio

This times one billion.

That and the micro thin font keyboard that even enabling "bold font" won't fix.

Cleaning up on the skeuomorphism, sure. Replacing it with bright red, baby blue and neon green, not so much.

I personally really like the functionality of iOS 7. I of however hate the new icons. Most of them are terrible. The new Contril Center is great. By far my favorite feature. I can't get the panoramic wallpaper to work though.

Apple cut out the panoramic wallpaper in beta 5.

Shhh, don't make noise in the sacred temple of Steve. People here seem to worship him.

Maybe the OP should edit the title of this thread, he can also feel less embarresed now that iOS 7 is less than perfect and he wants to revert back to iOS 6.

To have never existed is indeed perfection itself.

I would hate to turn this into a religious argument, but I have to correct you. The man people knew as Jesus indeed lived and died on a cross. Numerous texts, including roman texts, verified that. The real question is did he appear after death to the disciples...

Quit listening to liberal revisionist history and read a real history book for once.

From the OVERWHELMING majority of posters in these forums (OP included), the easy conclusion is that iOS 7 is the worst iOS version ever.

In fact, I have NEVER seen any other Apple operating system (Mac or iDevices) receive SO MUCH negative feedback in so little time...no surprise I am gonna wait a little longer before updating (also because I just hate iTunes 11).

I need a hug #. My download worked perfectly and I do like the new features so far. It's kind of like getting a brand new phone and iPad.

I'm not whining but my only complaint this far is - holy cow - what's with all the white brightness? It's like they changed most background colors in the apps to white. I would imagine all that bright white isn't going to be easier on battery life.

Actually white should save power as all the pixels are "off" to let the back light through. Black screens require all pixels "on" to block the light.

After spending some time with ios7 on both 4s and ipad 3 I'd say it is very good on the phone. Slick and stable. I love the design now I have the settings right.

Bit it's ordinary on the ipad with performance issues and poor layout for iPads screen.

So many people blindly follow Apple and whatever they say/do. Yes iOS7 has some nice points, as did iOS6. However, the battery drain on my i5 is NOT nice and nor are the colours in the text app. The green on white colours are horrible. The calendar app also sucks badly and I miss the old font in the notes app.
That said, safari is MUCH better and the mail app way faster at downloading attachments. I also like the control panel.
