I just picked up my new 8GB iPod nano Red! It's freakin sweet! I love the new look as well as the shape. Good job Apple!
Heard from where? The option doesn't appear in any menus. I'm pretty sure you heard wrong.
Has anyone purchased/received a case yet? Ebay is flooded with cheap skins and a few ugly leather ones.
You heard wrong. You can turn off shake to shuffle, but not the accelerometer.
im not a big fan of cases , but i ordered a "bodygaurdz" for it , it should be here on monday or the day after
I reckon the 4G Nano is durable enough to not need a case. Well, I'll soon find out because I'm not buying one
This is without a doubt the most annoying feature of the new ipods. it also drains the batter faster. Coverflow is the dumbest way to browse music but I doubt they will EVER give the user an option to disable it.
I'm also not a fan of the new "Now Playing" screen -- specifically the fact that it doesn't have the "X of Y" track number information anywhere obvious. You need to click the middle button once to get that info on the screen.

Out of all the iterations of Cover Flow, I actually find myself using the 4G Nano's from time to time.
It's still mostly a gimmick, but the response is so quick, and the fact that I can do it one handed, unlike the iPhone, makes it useable, and even a little enjoyable for me.

i just picked up a 16GB purple this past saturday. the hawaii apple stores finally received some 16GBs 11 days after the "let's rock" event. purple is definitely the bestest color.
Same here. It wouldn't be my main way of navigating but it has shown some light on the feature for me.

I just bought a ipod nano 16gb as a temporary solution till I get back to Hong Kong and repair my 80gb ipod classic

My Nano feels pretty solid. Unless you put it in a pocket with some keys or something, it shouldn't get scratched. And even then it might not. The screen is glass, which is more scratch-resistant than plastic...
Its a personal opinion but i got the red 16GB and i love the color. It's not too bright when in the sun and indoors its beautifully rich and dense.
