I doubt any of the later orders will ship until all the orders of the same phone that were placed earlier ship. Maybe we'll get lucky if some people cancel .

That's never how it has worked. Its seemingly random because the carrier (UPS) tells them which region they want phones for so they can palletize them how they want them. At this point, they are all sitting in a big warehouse and UPS is calling the shots.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm assuming if you are in the 7-10 days group that Apple doesn't have the stock available to ship yet. If that's true, UPS wouldn't have anything to do with it.

I only ordered yesterday thru Apple store app for October shipment with $10 expedited fee. Should I ask if they can refund me the $10 fee if I don't get a shipping status for next week? I'm afraid if I do that I might fall back at the end of the line with my order or just wait till I get my order and ask for the refund then?

It seems like the shipping is much more random within the first group then the change to preparing was.

Oh I agree. Just saying it isn't entirely first in first out, so people with 3:06 AM orders may ship before 3:03 AM.

Expedited or not? Its weird your delivery is the day after mine when they fly into the West coast. I'm in DC...trying to figure out if expedited makes any difference.

Ordered 2 64g gold and a space gray on Fri around 9:30 am. from AT&T

The Space gray went from preparing to ship oct 1-10, to now shipped due to be delivered 9-24. Fed-Ex


The other 2 still preparing to ship 10/21 to 10/30.

So who knows. Hopefully they will ship sooner.

Welp, stood in line all night for the 5s. I was fifteenth in line and figured I would have a decent chance at a silver or gold, but nope. Nope. Got the space gray, but just returned it and ordered a gold. If I had ordered at 3 am I would likely be getting my phone next week; now, I'll be waiting until Oct. My first and last time waiting in line for a phone. I'll be checking my order status obsessively with everyone else.
