Cool! I'm genuinely curious how you know this. I, too, would love to know the exact flight so I can watch.

Just judging by other peoples that are a day ahead of us shipping. I'm posting in the 1-3 day thread but will get back to you with rough estimates.

For example this is one a day ahead of my phone:
Anchorage, AK, United States 09/23/2013 1:09 P.M. Arrival Scan
Incheon, Korea, Republic of 09/23/2013 11:58 P.M. Departure Scan
09/23/2013 7:40 P.M. Arrival Scan
ZhengZhou, China 09/23/2013 4:48 P.M. Departure Scan
ZhengZhou, China 09/22/2013 8:00 P.M. Arrival Scan
09/22/2013 7:30 P.M. Departure Scan
09/22/2013 2:00 P.M. Origin Scan
China 09/22/2013 7:20 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

As you can see, it say for 21 hours if my math is right.

Do you think you can tell me which plane that is, I believe mine may be on there as well.

As above, I will get back to you. I understand the times, but no idea about the flights, many people were looking at them.

For you both, it is believed todays plane was:

UPS Flight 99. Actually basically confirmed that was todays. I would assume tomorrows as well?

OMG! I got an iPhone 5s GOLD @ Apple Store TODAY (3 days after Launch)

When I got out of bed this morning I had no intention of getting an iPhone 5S. Due to finances I was going to wait for the iPhone 6.

That all changed after I had accidentally dropped my iPhone 4S (which qualified for an upgrade) and the back glass smashed on pieces.

So off to the Apple Store I went...

My original plan was simply to get my 4S swapped and wait for the iPhone 6 before upgrading. When I told the Apple Genius this was what I wanted to do he told me that AppleCare wouldn't approve a swap because the price of repairing the backplate glass would be $20.00 cheaper. So, I said no problem.

So, after that was done I thought to myself find out how much is the trade in value of my iPhone 4S.

The salesperson told me my White iPhone 4S 64GB would get me $205.00. So, I'm thinking ok that is 1/2 the price of the $399 iPhone 5S 64 GB. Maybe now I can afford an iPhone 5S?

So after that, I say to myself go the extra mile, for the hell of it and ask what is the availability of the Gold iPhone 5S (I could always come back in how many weeks he tells me they'd be coming in and trade then). The salesperson then asks me what storage and carrier would I be interested in?

I tell him 64GB AT&T. (Reason for AT&T is I still want my Unlimited Data from my first iPhone, the iPhone 3GS.)

He comes back from the stockroom and tells me "You're in luck we have all 3 colors for the AT&T 64GB!"

I almost fell on the floor!

Everyone here has been writing that the Gold is NOWHERE!

So you got a guy here who this morning had no idea he be getting any iPhone 5S and now long and behold he not only has an iPhone 5S but it's the most rare one, the Gold iPhone 5S and he got it for friggin 1/2 price!

FYI: The Apple Store I went to is: Apple Store; Coconut Point, Estero, FL

Just thought I'd check in on this thread - did the whole waiting to ship with iPhone 5 last year - called a local Radio Shack this afternoon and had a space grey iPhone 5s by 5:30.

I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Had my phone ordered in store at 4:30PM EST on Friday (9/20), got the email from att that it has been shipped. Att site says phone is preparing to ship and sim is backordered. No tracking information is avaliable on the UPS site.

iPhone 5s Ordering/Supply Rant (sort of)

It's really interesting when one thinks about the whole 5s ordering process. What is just mere seconds to us consumers, translates into days or even weeks for Apple.

For the lucky few who were able to have secured their phones at launch, they're getting theirs this week. Those who were late in joining the line (some by a few seconds) will have to wait a minimum of a week.

One has to wonder, what was Apple thinking? How is it that within a few hours, people will have to get their phones a week(s) later? Did Apple really expect to sell only a handful's worth of phones?

Ordering my phone on September 22, I obviously got the "Available to ship: October" date. I'm hoping that there's some incentive to ordering it 2 days after launch, and I won't be lumped in with a shipment that was ordered a week or two, later. I applaud Apple for using the ambiguous date of "October", because it frees them from making a definite commitment as to when they will ship. However, I really hope that they do reward those who made early commitments to them.

Am I wrong to be having these thoughts?

Requesting the last 4 characters of your new iPhone 5S serial

Hi folks - similar to last year, I have put together a spreadsheet where you can put the last four characters of your serial number from your iPhone 5S.

I'm requesting this, because the last four characters of an Apple serial are the model number of your new device, and the guy who runs the chipmunk.nl Apple Serial Number Decoder service needs these characters in order to be able to tell you (and everyone after you) what model of phone a certain serial number is.

HINT: If you ordered your phone from Apple but do not yet have it, and it has either already shipped to you (or is just about to be shipped) you can go to Apple's My Support Profile, and log in with the Apple ID that purchased the phone(s) from them, and you can see your serial number before you even have the phone in your hand!

So, without further ado, will you please kindly head over to the spreadsheet and put in the last 4 characters of your serial number, if they are not already on the sheet? Thank you!

Tin foil hat time, but I think a lot of it has to do with generating hype. A lot of carriers and Apple are shipping out way faster than their "estimated dates". AT&T is proving my theory with their estimated 7-28 business days ship date -- yet magically ship devices to consumers within 24 hours? Apple knows that if people want an iPhone, they'll get one, so initial supply doesn't really matter. Just my .02.

Anyways, Wednesday can't come soon enough. Can't wait to get my hands on the 5s. Hoping its as great as a device as many are saying.

It's UPS, it's live.
If you haven't had any update since Zhonzough, you're seeing your phone wed/thurs.

Sorry... should have been more clear with the question. I meant: if you were in the "processing items" stage, what time of day is it usually changed to "preparing for shipment" or even "shipped"? Thanks for responding!

In case you all are annoyed like I am with the local times on the UPS site, or for people in the batch shipping out next, I made a schedule.

This starts off with the second batch in the warehouse, so adjust those dates if you're a batch ahead or behind, also I've converted the time to EDT (EST in daylight savings) so you can subtract hours if needed.

I agree. My order through AT&T went from one month away to two days. It's here tomorrow. I'm sure it will happen with a lot of people.

F U Apple. Should have just picked it up in store and told Apple to take the one still in China and shove it up Tim Cook's a**.

Thanks for nothing.

Calm down? lol.

We're not the first considering theres a batch in america right now.

That's the order they shipped, I guarantee you the iPhones that got shipped yesterday/two days ago were made in the same timeframe/batch as the ones getting shipped tonight.
