I ordered on launch day (Sept. 20) around noon. I called Apple several times complaining how I'm waiting 20 days to get something that people are walking into stores and buying off the shelf. I complained about their shipping system, why they don't just ship inventory from stores for those waiting so long, and they just say "I know, we hear that all the time, sorry"

Absolutely!
Don't know what those who are advising you "shouldn't be much of a problem" etc. are basing that optimism on:
I ordered a 16GB/Space Grey/T-Mobile - mid-day on 26 Sept.
"Your order is being processed" Shipment: October" - is the only email I've received to date.
If you're lucky enough to be able to snag one at a local store - do it! Here, in Los Angeles - that's not been the case
FWIW: My frustration has been that per: Apples Return Policy - I should have the 5S in hand by the 19th Oct. - as theoretically that's the 30 day limit for exchanging the 5C which I received on the 20th Sept.
It doesn't look like that will happen.

I'm in the same boat. Mine has been in "preparing to ship" mode for over a week. The same phone I ordered is in stock at the Apple Store, but they won't cancel or switch mine to store pickup.

Ehh I have a black 5 now, fingerprints dont bother me. I originally had the white 4s then white 5 but I wasnt a fan of the 5 in white. Im wondering if I should have ordered right from verizon instead? I dont know. I just dont understand why apple was so unprepared for this...unless I am missing something.
 
My unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 5S 32GB Space Gray just arrived via UPS. 20 days... Love it. As soon as I set it up the wife insisted on scanning her fingerprint too. lol. :roll eyes:

I can't get over how quick and responsive it is over my iPhone 5. The Camera is great, took some flash and macro shots, the burst mode is unbelievable.... maybe even dangerous. lol.

The front camera not only switches much faster but is more responsive and the picture quality went up a big notch.

All in all, so-far it's great. I popped my current AT&T sim in there to play with it until I switch to T-Mobile in a couple of days. That is what I like about an unlocked phone. Also I just heard T-Mobile has free international roaming now, which is great because I travel to Europe often.

Apple Stores near me have 3 stores with 16gbs on AT&T available in stores.. FYI..
 
Picked up my WHITE/SILVER 16gb Iphone 5s ATT yesterday from my local Walmart.

FYI: If your in the phoenix area the Walmart on 91st and Camelback has a ton of ATT and Verizon Iphone 5s in stock. Ranging from 16gb space grey silver/white and also 64gb space grey white/silver no 32GB

Well I wondered the same myself, I got lucky the 3rd time! I guess it's just on the agents hand, the one you're talking to... Maybe they have a quota lets say to only give 10 cases for free per day per customer..

I ordered on 22nd and got free case and shipping.. Try using a harsh tone?

Try asking in a more nicer tone. I have heard someone else do this. But actually they didn't even "ask" So I am assuming if you are just nice and call to ask the status of your shipment and act genuinely disappointed without being mean, they might feel inclined to do it.
 
Phone is still apparently in Hamilton Ontario. I am watching the UPS tracker of course, hoping it will arrive tomorrow, but half expecting delivery to be bumped to next week.

Product Red case was delivered today, though. It is lovely. I think I'll also get a black one and a blue one. :)
 
Ordered my gold iPhone 5S 16gb at 5AM central time on launch day....finally shipped today from Verizon....will receive Monday.

Same happened to me like 2-3 days ago. I think our phones are riding the same plane... I really hope that it somehow shows up Friday. It'll be a good weekend then
 
Got my 64g Silver today at 5pm. Thing of beauty. Still updating (I took a "break" and went to do some work for 2 hours)

Best wishes to all still waiting for their phones. I will continue in the forum, since I am still waiting wife's 16g gold...:cool:

Departure scan from Concord Ontario last evening. Probably on a UPS donkey cart. Who knows if it will make it to Quebec in time for delivery today. Not gonna hold my breath.
 
16GB Silver ordered on 4th october and.....Dispatched: October

I finally got a ship by/deliver by date:

Ships October 18, delivered by October 25 that would be great but I paid extra for next day shipping by noon. I'll have to call Apple in the morning.
