Finally a slight status change, not so sure how I'm feeling about it.. It should've been a week earlier

Delivery: 25 Oct, 2013 by Standard Shipping

Strange, saw people who ordered on 20th of September and still waiting with delivery dates like 1st of November:confused:

Me and you are on the same shipping date I ordered 32GB gray Tmo unlocked on the 6th too

I placed my order on Sept. 22nd.

The order status now says "Delivers Nov 4 by Standard Shipping."

I'm not sorry to say such a long delay sucks.

Next time I'll try Android; at least Samsung has adequate inventory before launching a new product.

Should receive on Oct 15

I ordered on the 20th at 11:00am PST. Gold 64GB from the online apple store. Almost a month of waiting but it's on its way at least!! :D
 
My status finally changed but it says it won't arrive until Nov 4th. Yesterday it said shipping October.

I ordered September 30th.

did your status actually change? Apple added possible shipping dates/delivery dates to everyone but as far as I know a lot of people still have their same status (ex: Processing)
 
It does still say processing items but now that it says a specific date seems to be somewhat of an improvement.

So is there any chance of working with Apple to get free expedited shipping and or a case?

On a side note, why can't Apple get enough phones built before launching? It seems like this happens almost every year. Do they not lock in their hardware requirements until moment before going into production? It just seems like by this time they should have this pretty much figured out.

As long as your order is still processing, people have had success getting bumped up to the expedited shipping!

I think "available to ship October" means that it will leave the facility in October. It doesn't necessarily mean that it will *arrive* in October.

Called Apple, they stated the order should ship out overnight as I ordered it and they are crediting back the overnight shipping fee to my account. We'll see when it actually gets here but looks like definitely before November. :rolleyes:

Finally got shipping date estimate... not too happy

"Ships October 24-28"
"Delivers Nov 5 by Standard Shipping"

I thought we all were gonna get Expedited shipping, and I was expecting more of an around "18th" shipping...

In context, just received a silver 64gb yesterday, ordered the same day, 7 minutes earlier... Great phone...

You are correct it does definitely indicate it's shipping October 26 - 28th. So technically they weren't misleading.
 
I was able to score a 32GB Gold 5s at my local Apple store here.
Love it so far! I can't wait to put the gold case I ordered to put on the phone. :p
 
Just called Apple customer service, I just asked the rep about the status of my update, and whether or not the date listed is just an estimate. She was very sweet and she answered that it is just an estimate. I then asked her what standard shipping that I have means and how many days it is, and she just said that she'd change that to 2-3 day shipping for me, without me even asking. So now I have ships by Nov 1 instead of 4 from earlier, which is an improvement.
Still hoping that the phone will be shipped sooner than the estimated time.
